|a يتناول البحث دراسة التمدد الحضري لمدينة ميت سلسيل والتمدد الحضري أصبح ظاهرة تميز معظم المدن المصرية، وأنتج مجالات حضرية تعرف حراكا يوميا للتمدد والزحف العمراني على الأراضي الزراعية الخصبة في مصر، وقد تم ذلك من خلال دراسة التطور التاريخي ونشأة مدينة ميت سلسيل وموقعها وكذلك تسليط الضوء على الموارد والمقومات الاقتصادية للمدينة ونتائج دراسة الأنشطة الحالية ومن خلال رصد تطور النمو العمراني والتي تهدف إلى تحديد طبيعية النسيج العمراني ومحاور امتداده وجبهات نموه ومقدار هذا النمو. وستركز الدراسة أيضا على دوافع الامتداد العمراني وتشمل نمو السكان وكثافتهم وشبكة الطرق، وبعدها يتم إلقاء الضوء على أهم الخصائص العمرانية لمحاور الامتداد العمراني الحديثة كارتفاعات المباني وحالات المباني ومادة البناء لتختتم الدراسة في النهاية بأهم المشكلات المترتبة على الزحف العمراني على الأراضي الزراعية والرؤية المستقبلية للمدينة واسقاطتها على القطاعات الأساسية.

|b The research deals with the study of urban expansion of the city of Met Salsil, and urban expansion has become a phenomenon that distinguishes most Egyptian cities, and has produced urban areas that define daily mobility for urban expansion and encroachment on fertile agricultural lands in Egypt, and this was done through a study of the historical development and origin of the city of Mitt Salsil and its location as well as highlighting the The resources and economic components of the city and the results of studying the current activities, and through monitoring the development of urban growth, which aims to determine the nature of the urban fabric, its axis of expansion, its growth fronts, and the amount of this growth. The study will also focus on the drivers of urban expansion, including population growth and density, and the road network, after which the most important urban characteristics of the axes of modern urban expansion such as building heights, building conditions and building material are highlighted, so the study will finally conclude with the most important problems of urban sprawl on agricultural lands and the future vision of the city and its projection on Basic sectors.
