|b The research aims to use geographic information systems as an auxiliary technology in assessing the reality of solid waste dumpsites in Qena, managing them and selecting the best suitable sites for establishing health dumpsites based on a set of conditions and criteria, depending on the criteria of an agreement for choosing the design and operation of waste dumpsites by using the programming languages technology to reach the formulation of standards and plan for the waste dumpsites in accordance with the city conditions. The research consists of eight axes: the first is concerned with the natural and human factors and their impact on waste; the second examines the sources of waste in Qena; the third studies methods of solid waste disposal in the governorate; the fourth provides an applied study on the solid waste recycling plant in the governorate; the fifth explores the damages resulting from waste in the governorate, the sixth makes future plans to determine the best suitable sites for the construction of the dumpsites in the governorate, the seventh is assigned to the geographical evaluation of the current and proposed dump sites; and the eighth is concerned with the application of smart garbage program for waste management followed by the results and recommendations of the study.

|a يهدف البحث الي استخدام نظم المعلومات الجغرافية كتقنية مساعدة ففي تقييم واقع المكبات في المدينة، وتخطيطها واختيار أفضل المواقع المناسبة لإقامة مكبات نفايات صحية بناءً على مجموعة من الشروط والمعايير، بالاعتماد على معايير اتفاقية خاصة باختيار تصميم وتشغيل مكبات النفايات عن طريق تقنية لغات البرمجة المختلفة، للوصول الي صياغة معايير وتخطيط مكبات النفايات بما يتوافق مع ظروف المدينة. ويتكون البحث من ثمانية عناصر وهي: جاء العنصر الاول ليهتم بالعوامل الطبيعية والبشرية وتأثيرها على المخلفات، ثم جاء العنصر الثاني لدراسة مصادر المخلفات بمدينة قنا، ليليهم العنصر الثالث لدراسة طرق التخلص من النفايات الصلبة بالمدينة، ثم جاء العنصر الرابع بدراسة تطبيقية على مصنع تدوير المخلفات الصلبة بالمدينة، وجاء العنصر الخامس بدراسة الاضرار الناتجة عن المخلفات بالمدينة، ثم جاء العنصر السادس ليهتم بدراسة التخطيط المستقبلي لتحديد أفضل المواقع المناسبة لعمل مكبات بالمدينة، ليليها العنصر السابع لتقييم الجغرافي لمواقع المكبات الحالية والمقترحة، وأخيرا جاء تطبيق برنامج السلة الذكية لإدارة المخلفات، لتعقبهم النتائج والتوصيات التي توصلت لها الدراسة
