لم يعد الوعي في الدراسات الأدبية الحديثة، مجرد محاكاة للواقع التقليدي، أو حتى انعكاس لقضايا الواقع الخارجي، بل تخطى هذه المرحلة ليكون الانبعاث النفسي العفوي لمخزون الذكريات هو محور الارتكاز في العمل الفني، وهذا ما اصطلح على تسميته تيار الوعي. وفي الحقيقة فإن مصطلح تيار الوعي خاص بعلماء النفس، حيث ابتدعه عالم النفس وليام جيمس "William James" في كتابه مبادئ علم النفس. ثم انتقل المصطلح إلى عالم القصة الحديثة، كتقنية حديثة في تحليل الأعمال الفنية بخلفية نفسية، أسس لها علم النفس التحليلي على يد فرويد. وانتهى روبرت همفري إلى أن تيار الوعي "يستخدم للدلالة على منهج في تقديم الجوانب الذهنية للشخصية". ودون إطالة في الحديث عن نشأة المصطلح، ننتقل إلى رواية اللص والكلاب موضوع البحث، بدأ محفوظ يكتب اللص والكلاب محاولا إيجاد التوازن بين الحقيقتين الداخلية والخارجية. وتوالت الدراسات النقدية التحليلية لهذا التوجه الحدثي في روايات محفوظ. وكان جل اهتمام هذه الدراسات ينصب على دراسة تيار الوعي وآليات محفوظ السردية. وهذا البحث يقترب من الدراسات السابقة لتيار الوعي، ولكن بصورة مغايرة فهو يبحث في جماليات شعرية رواية اللص والكلاب. ومن ثم انطلقت هذه الدراسة محاولة أن تتناول جانبا من الجوانب التي تتماس فيها رواية اللص والكلاب مع الشعر. وقد اشتمل هذا البحث على مفدمة وتمهيد ومبحثين وخاتمة، المبحث الأول بعنوان: تماس تيار الوعي مع تفعيلات الخليل.. أما المبحث الثاني بعنوان: التكرار ودلالاته في الخطاب السردي.. أما الخاتمة فتضمنت أهم النتائج المتحصل عليها. وقد اعتمد البحث على المنهج الاستقرائي لتحديد النماذج نطاق الدراسة، والمنهج الأسلوبي مع الاستعانة بالمنهج التحليلي.
Consciousness in modern literary studies is no longer just a simulation of traditional reality, or even a reflection of external reality issues, but has gone beyond this stage so that the spontaneous psychological emission of the store of memories is the focus of the artistic work, and this is what has been termed the stream of consciousness. In fact, the term consciousness stream is specific to psychologists, as psychologist William James invented it in his book Principles of Psychology. Then the term moved to the world of modern story, as a modern technique in analyzing artistic works with a psychological background, the foundations of analytical psychology. By Freud, Robert Humphrey concluded that the stream of consciousness "is used to denote an approach to presenting the mental aspects of personality". Turning to the novel "AL less wa Al kelab", the topic of the research, Nagib Mahfouz began writing "Al less wa Al kelab" trying to find a balance between the internal and external truths. And the critical and analytical studies of this modernist trend continued in Mahfouz's novels. Most of these studies focused on studying the stream of consciousness and Mahfouz's narrative mechanisms. This research approaches the previous studies of the stream of consciousness, but in a different way, it searches in the poetic aesthetics of the narration of "Al less wa Al kelab". This study was launched in an attempt to address the aspects in which the narration of "Al less wa Al kelab" relates to poetry. This research included an introduction, two articles and a conclusion. The first topic is entitled: The Stream of Consciousness’s Contact with the poetic meter "Al Khalil Ibn Ahmed" In it, some scenes of the awareness stream were presented with measured language and words on the poetic meter "Al Khalil Ibn Ahmed". As for the second topic entitled: Repetition and its implications in the narrative discourse. As for the conclusion, it included the most important results obtained. The research relied on the inductive approach to determine the models, the scope of the study, and the stylistic approach, with the help of the analytical method.
