المستخلص: أن العمل الخيري يعتبر تجسيدا عمليا لفكرة التكافل الاجتماعي باعتباره يمثل مجموعة من الأعمال الخيرية التي يقوم بها بعض الاشخاص الذين يتحسسون آلام الناس وحاجتهم الأمر الذي يدفعهم إلى تقديم التبرع بجهودهم وأوقاتهم وأموالهم لخدمة الناس بهدف تقديم الخير والمنفعة لهم إضافة إلى تخفيف المعاناة عن الناس سواء كانوا فقراء، كبار السن، أطفال، محرومين، ضحايا كوارث. أنه حسب ذلك فإن العمل الخيري من أهم الوسائل المستخدمة للمشاركة في النهوض بمكانة المجتمعات في عصرنا الحالي ويكتسب هذا العمل أهمية متزايدة يوما بعد يوم وخاصة مع اتساع الهوة بين موارد الحكومات وازدياد احتياجات الشعوب حيث برز دور العمل الخيري لسد تلك الفجوة ولم تعد الحكومات قادرة على توفير احتياجات أفرادها ومجتمعاتها سواء في البلدان المتقدمة أو النامية، فمع زيادة تعقيدات الظروف الحياتية ازدادت احتياجات المجتمع وأصبحت في تغير مستمر. ومن هنا تكمن مشكلة الدراسة الحالية في محاولة الإجابة على التساؤل الآتي: ما الدور الذي تقوم به الجمعيات الخيرية للتخفيف من حدة الفقر في المجتمع المصري؟ وانطلاقا من مشكلة الدراسة واتساقا مع أهدافها يحدد الباحث هذه الدراسة في كونها دراسة وصفية. وقد استخلصت الدراسة عددا من النتائج أهمها: أن الجمعيات الخيرية تلعب دورا هاما كفاعل رئيسي ومشارك للدولة في التنمية، وتغير الدور الذي كانت تلعبه من الدور الرعائي إلى الدور التنموي وذلك من خلال التشبيك بين الجمعيات الخيرية والدولة وتوحيد الجهود بينهم لتطوير المناطق الأكثر احتياجا والعمل على تطويرها وتنميتها من أجل تحقيق العدالة الاجتماعية وتوزيع الثروة بين الأفراد وعدم تركيزها في أيدي قلة من الناس.

The charity work is a practical embodiment of the idea of social solidarity which is regarded a group of charitable acts done by some people who are sensitive to people’s needs for pains. This leads them to make voluntary donation of their efforts, time and money to serve those people in order to provide good and benefits to them in addition to ease the suffering of the people whether they are poor, the elders, children, the deprived, the victims of disasters. According to this, the charitable work is one of the of the most important means used to participate in the advancement of the status of communities in the present age. This work increasingly acquires important day by day, especially with the wide gap between the governments resources and increasing needs of the people. Hence, the role of charity work emerged to bridge that gap .The governments can no longer provide the needs of its members and their communities, whether in developed or developing countries. Especially with the increasing complexities of living conditions and the needs of community increased and has become a constantly changing. Hence, the problem of the present study lies in an attempt to answer the following question: What is the role-played by charities to alleviate poverty in Egyptian society? On the basis of the problem of the study and consistent with the objectives of this study, the researcher identifies this study to be descriptive. The study has drawn a number of findings, including: those charities play an important role as a major participant to state in development. The role that they play changed from the pastoral role to the developmental role through networking between charities and the state to unify efforts to develop the most needy areas in order to achieve social justice and the distribution of wealth among individuals and not concentrate it in a few hands.
