المستخلص: تعد دراسة الأردية والملابس من أهم المقومات الحقيقية للحضارة بوجه عام. فهي بمثابة وثيقة مهمة تعبر عن الفن تعبيرا صادقا. فهي تعد أحد العوامل التي توضح مدى التقدم الحضاري للشعوب. فدراسة هذا النوع من الفنون يقدم مزيدا من العوامل والظروف والتأثيرات التي تؤدى إلى تطور تلك الأزياء. لا شك أن الاحتفاظ بتراث الأسلاف والتعمق في دراسته يمكننا من الوصول إلى معرفه وأصول الحضارات الراهنة التي نعيشها. اختلفت الملابس الرومانية عن نظيرتها الإغريقية رغم الأصول غير الرومانية للكثير من أنواعها. واختلفت الملابس من طبقة إلى طبقة طبقا للمكانة الاجتماعية التي يشغلها الفرد في المجتمع وعلى النقيض؛ حرمت الطبقات الدنيا من التمتع بتلك الأزياء واتسمت ملابسهم بالبساطة. لم تحظ الملابس الرومانية بدراسات باللغة العربية إلا من بعض الكتب القليلة والمترجمة على عكس الدراسات الأجنبية الوفيرة في هذا المجال. لهذا يهدف البحث إلى التعرف على الملابس النسائية في ولاية أفريقيا الرومانية في الفترة من القرن الأول ق.م وحتى القرن الرابع م. ومعرفة تغير نوعيات الملابس من تواجدها في مجتمع ممتلئ بغير أصحابه من الرومان. لذا يتعرض البحث إلى معرفة الملابس النسائية وأجزائها خلال تلك الفترة.

The study of Garments and Clothing is considered one of the essential standards of cultural, as it is an important document that reflects art during the said era in general. It is also one of the main factors that indicate the cultural advance of people as studying this kind of art explains the circumstantial factors and their impacts that led to the in the style of dressing. There is no doubt that by preserving this heritage and studying it thoroughly we are allowed to reach and get acquainted with the origins and style of living of these people and their descending impact on our current cultures and styles of life. Roman garments have differed notably from their Greek counterparts in spite of the Non-Roman origins of many of their styles. Clothes have also distinguished social classes according to rank, whereas the lower classes were prevented this privilege and their clothes were mainly characterized by simplicity. The study of Roman Garments unfortunately has received little attention in Arabic Historical Literature as opposed to their European counterparts, except for a few books and translations. Hence this study aims to introduce Roman women’s garments in the North African province during the era from the 1st century B.C. to the 4th century A.D. and how they changed due to being used by other Non Roman people, where the study discusses the details of women’s clothes and their different parts during this period.
