المستخلص: تناولت الدراسة الدور الذي يقوم به مجلس الصحافة والمطبوعات السوداني في تطوير مهنة الصحافة بالتركيز على لجنتي الجوائز والتدريب بالمجلس، وتمثلت مشكلة الدراسة في أنه في ظل التطور الكبير الذي يشهده العالم في كافة مناحي الحياة وفي ظل المنافسة الكبيرة التي تجدها الصحافة لتحتفظ بمكانتها، في ظل هذا التطور في تقنيات الاتصال، وظهور وسائل الاتصال الحديثة لكل ذلك تحتاج مهنة الصحافة إلى الاهتمام بالكوادر الصحفية تأهيلا وتدريبا وتشجيعا، وهو الدور الذي تقوم به المجالس المهنية المتخصصة ممثلة في مجالس للصحافة، نبعت أهمية الدراسة من أنها تبحث في قضية مهمة إلا وهى الجهود التي قام ويقوم بها مجلس الصحافة السوداني في تطوير المهنة عبر لجانه المتخصصة وانعكاس ذلك على المجتمع الصحفي، وهدفت الدراسة إلى الوقوف على إنجازات المجلس في مجال تشجيع وتأهيل وتدريب الصحفيين بغرض تطوير مهنة الصحافة، كما انطلقت الدراسة من فرضية أساسية مفادها أن مجالس الصحافة لها دور مهم وواضح في تطور مهنة الصحافة، أتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي والمنهج التاريخي لتتبع التطور التاريخي لأنشطة المجلس في مجال تدريب وتشجيع الصحفيين.

The study focused on the role played by the Sudanese Press and Publications Council in developing the profession of journalism in Sudan by focusing on the Awards and Training Committees of the Council, and the problem of the study was presented in light of the great development of the world in all aspects of life and in light of the great competition that the press finds to preserve its place and the presence of this similar development In the communication techniques and the emergence of modern means of communication , for all of this the press profession needs to pay attention to qualified and trained journalistic cadres, which is the role played by specialized professional councils represented in the National Sudanese Council for Press and Publications. The importance of the study stems from the fact that it is focusing on one important issue, which is the efforts made by the Council in developing the profession through its specialized committees and its reflection on the journalistic community, the study aimed to examine the achievements of the council in the field of encouraging, qualifying and training journalists for the purpose of developing the press profession. The study also started from a basic hypothesis that the Press Council has an important and clear role in the development of the profession of journalism; the study followed the descriptive approach and the historical approach to track the historical development of the Council's activities in training and encouragement of journalists.
