Soil is an effective and important element of the construction process as it is the only subject that can bear the loads and to move it safely to the different soil layers below the foundations. Soil (layers of soil) must be studied thoroughly so that the building is used safely throughout the life of the building. The difficulty of making the bits and their high cost in desert areas has led to the failure of the tests, and consequently the lack of accurate knowledge of the type of soil in the secluded areas. Consequently, the research contributes to preparing a study on soil characteristics in the El-Kwamil area of the new Sohag University to make a map showing the types of soil and the depths of the different layers in this area. The study is of great importance in the field of constructions for the placement of soil types, for easy decision-making in the establishment and knowledge of soil types in El-Kwamil area. |
