المستخلص: كان النشاط العلمي لدراسة اللغة العربية على يد علماء العربية منذ أبي الأسود الدؤلي، وعبد الله بن أبي إسحق، وعيسى بن عمر وغيرهم، الذين لم يصل إلينا من طبيعة محاولاتهم ومنهجهم في معالجة قضايا اللغة إلا أقل القليل. أما الإبداع اللغوي والمناقشة الواعية الجادة لقضايا اللغة، فقد برزت منهجا واضحا على يد الخليل بن أحمد وتلميذه سيبويه، وهو منهج سار عليه كل من شاء أن يدرس اللغة قديما وحديثا وإلى يومنا هذا. هذه المحاولات كانت الركيزة الأولى والرئيسة، وحجر الأساس لقيام البناء اللغوي الشامخ والمتين، وسجلا صادقا لواقع التفكير اللغوي آنذاك، وميدانا للتطبيق عند اللغويين المعاصرين. واليوم أضحت اللغة -بشكل عام، والعربية بشكل خاص -ميدانا خصبا للبحث والدراسة، إلا أن لغتنا العربية ما زالت بحاجة ماسة لمزيد من الأبحاث العميقة؛ للنهوض بها، كي تساير كل تطور على مسرح الحياة الفكرية والحضارية، ولا سيما بعد ظهور علم اللغة الحديث، المولود الجديد بين العلوم الإنسانية عند الغربيين؛ وذلك لما أتيح للباحثين من ظروف ومناهج وإمكانات جعلتهم يقطعون أشواطا بعيدة في تلك الميادين. ولم يكن العرب بمنأى من هذه المناهج وتلك المدارس، فقد قام نفر من أبناء العربية بالتوجه نحو الغرب؛ ليدرسوا علم اللغة الحديث على أعلامه في جامعات الغرب. وقد بدأت طلائع الدارسين تتوافد إلى أوطانها تنشر المؤلفات معرفة بمناهج علم اللغة الحديث وقضاياه، مساهمة بذلك في فتح باب جديد في مجال الدرس اللغوي الحديث وتطبيقها على العربية. يتناول البحث بالتعريف بالدراسات اللغوية الحديثة في الأردن منذ عام ١٩٧٦، وهو تاريخ إنشاء مجمع اللغة العربية الأردني إلى عام ٢٠١٤، معرفا بأشهر الأعلام الذين لهم بصمات واضحة في مجال الدرس اللغوي الحديث.

The scholarly activity in the field of Arabic language among the Arab scholars started with Abu Al Aswad Al D’ouali, Abdullah bin Isaaq and Essa bin Omar and others but what we received of their works is scanty. The real creative studies of the language and the serious and direct studies of the linguistic issues have followed a clear-cut approach at the hands of Khalil bin Ahmed and his disciple Sibawayh. It is an approach that will be followed by anyone intending to study the language, ancient and modern, up to the present. Such attempts were the first foundation and the cornerstone for constructing the solid and colossal linguistic construction and an authentic document of the linguistic thinking prevalent then. Also it serves as a filed for application among the contemporary linguists. Nowadays, the language in general and Arabic language in particular, has become a fertile domain for study and investigation. However, our Arabic language is still in dire need for in-depth studies in order to upgrade the Arabic language so that it can keep track of all that goes on in the intellectual and cultural life, in particular after the emergence of modern linguistics. It is the newcomer among the human sciences of the Westerners. This is because the researchers have enjoyed certain privileges, methods and potentialities, which empowered them to reach dazzling stages in their field. The Arabs were not away from such evolutions and schools. Thus, many Arabs went to the West in order to study modern linguistics at the hands of its practitioners. The first graduates began to return home and publish their own books, which proliferated the approaches of modern linguistics and its issues. All this contributed to opening a new vista in the field of modern linguistic study and its impact on the Arabic language. The present research tackles the process of surveying the modern linguistic studies in Jordan from 1976, which is the date of the foundation of the Jordanian Academy for Arabic language down to 2014. It sheds light on the prominent figures who have left their imprint on the modern linguistic study.
