المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى الإجابة عن هذا السؤال المحوري: لماذا نال شرح الواحدي لشعر المتنبي لدى النقاد والعلماء، قديما وحديثا، مكانة كبيرة لم ينلها شرح آخر؟ وهل استحق هذه المكانة بجدارة؟ وتوصل البحث إلى أن الواحدي تميز في شرحه لشعر المتنبي بالأصالة العلمية التي اتضحت في عدم اكتفائه بتلخيص تفسيرات الشراح، أو عرضها دون إضافة أو نقد، وبالمنهجية الرصينة؛ إذ اتكأ على هدف علمي معلن، وتميز بمقدمته المنهجية، وتنوع مصادره، والأمانة العلمية، والاستيعاب، مع الاختصار، والتعضيد، والموضوعية. كما تأسس خطابه على مرجعية نقدية عامة، تمثلت في اعتماده في نقده وتعليقاته على مقاييس نقدية قارة في النظرية النقدية القديمة، سواء في الألفاظ والتراكيب أو المعاني، وفي جوانبها: اللغوي والجمالي والتأويلي. إلى جانب المرجعية النقدية الخاصة، التي تتجلى في إلمامه بخصائص شعر المتنبي الفنية وحركة نقده، وفي إفادته من مقاربات الشراح السابقين لشعر المتنبي. ولم يقتصر الواحدي على تفسير المضامين الشعرية وتأويلها، أو التعليق عليها دلاليا، بل تجاوزها نحو آفاق من النقد اللغوي والفني لعناصر الشعر. لأجل ذلك كان شرح الواحدي شاهدا على مرحلة اكتمال فن الشرح الشعري ونضجه، واستحق تلك المكانة المتميزة بين شروح شعر المتنبي، والحفاوة التي نالها لدى العلماء والنقاد والباحثين قديما وحديثا.

This research aims to answer this central question: Why did the explanation of al-Wahidi, both old and new, a place that did not have another explanation? Did he deserve this status? The research concluded that al-Wahidi distinguished in his explanation of al-Mutanabbi's poetry with scientific originality, which was clear in his sufficiency to summarize the interpretations of the commentators, or to present them without adding or criticism, and with a sober methodology, as he relied on a stated scientific goal, and distinguished by his methodological introduction, the diversity of its sources, scientific honesty, and assimilation, with Abbreviation, support, and objectivity. His speech was also based on a general critical reference, which was based on his criticism and comments on measures in ancient critical theory, both in terms, compositions and meanings, and in its aspects: linguistic, aesthetic and interpretive. In addition to the special criticism reference, which is reflected in his knowledge of the artistic characteristics of al-Mutanabbi's poetry and the movement of his criticism, and in his testimony from the approaches of the former commentators of al-Mutanabbi's poetry. Al-Wahidi was not limited to interpreting the poetic contents, or commenting on them semantically, but also transcending them towards horizons of linguistic and artistic criticism of the elements of poetry.Therefore, al-Wahdi's commentary was a evidence to the completion and maturity of the art of poetic commentary, and he deserved that distinguished place between the explanation of al-Mutanabbi's poetry, and the hospitality he received from scholars, critics and researchers, both old and new.
