Classical writings are an important source for the history of the Arabian Peninsula and its peoples in the pre-Islamic era. These sources provided us with rich information about the Arabian Peninsula in various political, economic, social and intellectual fields. Aeschylus and Herodotus followed the writings, the last of which was written by the historian Procopius in the 6th century AD. Despite the importance of these sources as an important source for the study of the history of the peoples of the Arabian Peninsula and the rest of the peoples of the Near East, they are not without errors, such as, exaggerations and contradictions at times. and this is what we clearly see in Strabo’s account of Aelius Gallus’s campaign on southern countries The Arabs. Where he accused her uncle of the Arabs that they were not a war nation, neither on land nor at sea, in addition to that they do not have the experience necessary to use their weapons, and he exaggerated mentioning the number of his campaign’s Arab fatalities in exchange for hiding the real number of his army’s dead, etc. Of exaggerations and errors that we will address in the folds of research. Which makes it urgent to re-read the classic sources to purify it from exaggerations and even slanders that I have written about the Arabian Peninsula and its people, intentionally or unintentionally. The choice is based on the presentation of a common incident between Arab and European history, the land of which was the scene of the Arabian Peninsula. The Greek writer Strabo wrote about the Roman expedition sent to the south of Arabia in 24 BC. Strabo was an eyewitness to the campaign by virtue of his accompanying campaign, and it is almost our only of his accompanying campaign, and it is almost our only source.
