520 |b Progress in any society is measured by the extent of the care and attention that is provided to children. Children today are the youth of tomorrow, men and women of the future, and upon them nations and societies hold their hopes. Wars and armed conflicts pose a great danger to children, as all their rights are violated, including the right to life, the right to health, development, care and protection. The causes of wars and armed conflicts are due to the multiplicity of loyalty centers and their strife within many countries, as well as to tribal, racial and class factors and the division of society against itself. Likewise, the emergence of globalization and the accompanying infringements have resulted in confusion in the peace of loyalties, an increase in extremism and intolerance, and a decline in enlightened political thought. And due to the experience of the painful and exciting events that have erupted in our Arab region, everyone follows the news throughout the day, whether through earth stations, satellite channels or newspapers, every individual, especially children, is exposed to many emotional and psychological feelings in addition to the emergence of introversion and isolation, as well as insomnia, tension and loss of appetite. It should be noted that these children need to provide psychological assistance and the necessary rehabilitation to protect them from the effects of armed conflicts and wars on them, and in light of these armed conflicts, children need special protection. The study reached a set of recommendations, including: - Work to encourage states to conclude treaties that guarantee protection of children's rights. - The need to provide health care to children affected by armed conflict. - Working on the participation of children in reconciliation and peace¬ building processes and rejecting armed conflicts.
