|a يهدف هذا البحث التركيز على سلطنة زنجبار في عهد السيد ماجد بن سعيد البوسعيدي 1856-1870، فهو محاولة للكشف عما دار في زنجبار من أحداث تاريخية خلال المدة المذكورة. \nوقد اقتضت طبيعة الموضوع بتقسيمة إلى عدة محاور جاء في أولها التمهيد والذي ركز وبشكل مختصر عن جهود السيد سعيد بن سلطان في تثبيت حكمه على مناطق شرق إفريقية ونجاحه في تأسيس أول دولة عربية إفريقية، ثم اختياره زنجبار مقرا لحكمه. \nوالمحور الثاني استعرض أزمة الصراع على السلطة في زنجبار بعد وفاة السيد سعيد بن سلطان بين أبنائه، ثم بين البحث نتائج ذلك الصراع، والذي تمخض عن فصل زنجبار عن مسقط، بعد التدخل البريطاني بموجب تحكيم كاننج. والمحور الثالث عالج البحث تجارة الرقيق في زنجبار، مبينا فيها أهم الضغوطات التي مارستها بريطانيا على السيد ماجد، بحجة مكافحة تلك التجارة والمحور الأخير تناول محاولات السيد ماجد سلطان زنجبار في التخلص من المعونة المالية المترتبة عليه بموجب قرار الفصل المذكور. اعتمد البحث بشكل أساسي على بعض الكتب الوثائقية باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية والمصادر العربية والمعربة. \n

|f This research focuses on the Sultanate of Zanzibar during the era of Sayyid Majid bin Saeed Al Busaidi 1856-1870. It is an attempt to discover the historical events that took place in Zanzibar during the mentioned period. \nThe nature of the subject required its division it into several areas, the first of which is the preface, which focused briefly on the efforts of Sayyid Said bin Sultan in establishing his rule over East African and his success in establishing the first Arab African country, and then selection of Zanzibar as the headquarter of his rule. \nThe second one reviewed the crisis of the power struggle in Zanzibar after the death of Sayyid Said bin Sultan among his sons, and then the research showed the results of that conflict, which resulted in the separation of Zanzibar from Muscat after the British intervention under the Canning arbitration. The third area of the research dealt with the slave trade in Zanzibar, indicating the biggest pressures that Britain exerted on Mr. Majid, under the pretext of combating that trade. The last one dealt with the attempts of Mr. Majid Sultan of Zanzibar to get rid of his financial aid under the decision of the aforementioned separation. The research relied mainly on some documentary books in Arabic and English and original and translated Arabic sources. \nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2021
