|a "للصناعات الإبداعية دوراً هاما ومؤثرا في التنمية الاقتصادية وتعزيز الدخل القومي لما لها من صبغة إنسانية مميزة تسهم في تكوين وتأكيد التنوع الثقافي وتتخطي أبعاد الزمان والحدود، مما يسهم في فتح أسواق عالمية تدعم مشاريع ريادة المستقبل وتساعد على نموها، حيث توجد فجوة كبيرة جدا فيما بين الشمال والجنوب في الاهتمام والاستفادة من هذه الصناعات، لذا أصبح من الضروري تعزيز القدرات المحلية لإعادة اكتشاف بعض هذه الصناعات أو الحرف التقليدية وتقديمها بشكل معاصر يتناسب ومتطلبات الوقت الراهن. ولما كانت تلك الثورة التكنولوجية المتجددة والتي تفتح بالفعل آفاقا مثيرة للإبداع، تفرض وجودها في كل المجالات بشكل متنامي، جعل من الضرورة إلزامية إعمالها في تطوير تلك الصناعات، بشكل كيفي وكمي، يسهم في تقديمها بشكل معاصر مع الحفاظ على البعد التراثي وتأكيد الهوية، بدلا من أن تكون أداة تؤدي إلى اندثارها والتأثير السلبي عليها. فثقافة المجتمعات هي عنوان تطورها وتقدم الدولة يقاس بمدى دعمها لمشاريع ريادة المستقبل، حيث لا معنى لتقدم أي مجتمع ما لم يمتلك قطاعاً ثقافياً متطوراً يقوم على صناعات ثقافية حقيقية أساسها الإبداع والابتكار لتسهم بشكل فعلي في تنمية وتعزيز الاقتصاد، وتعظيم الانتشار والتوسع الثقافي. وتتميز سلطنة عمان بعدد كبير ومتنوع من الصناعات التقليدية، التي يمكن أن تكون صناعات إبداعية يعتمد عليها كمصدر دخل داعم للاقتصاد القومي، ولكن ومع التطور التكنولوجي والإنتاج المميكن بدأت هذه الحرف في التراجع بشكل كبير."
