المستخلص: The research deals with the health situation in the New Valley Governorate in order to reveal the features of this situation to identify indicators of the health situation in the Governorate and the availability of health services there compared to those available at the level of the Republic in addition to identifying the average per capita health services in the New Valley Governorate compared to the population at the level of the Republic. It also seeks to identify the health status of the New Valley Governorate, to enable officials to develop future plans to address the phenomenon of poor distribution in the future and to know the reasons why some residents of the New Valley receive health services from Assiut governorate instead of the New Valley. The study relied on a descriptive-analytical approach in reviewing literature related to the subject of study available at universities and specialized research centers, as well as local and international reports, official statistics issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics and the Ministry of Health and Population to monitor the reality of the health situation in Egypt and the world. The study also relied on a comparative approach to compare the health situation in the New Valley Governorate with the general health situation of the state. The research reached a set of findings, namely that the average share of citizens in the New Valley Governorate in health services and the human force working in the field of health exceeds the average share of their peers at the level of the Republic. Thus, the New Valley Governorate enjoys a large share of health facilities and the manpower working in the field of health. However, the health status of the residents of the New Valley Governorate indicates a high number of patients, a low fertility rate compared to the proportion of patients, and the fertility rate at the country level, and thus a decrease in the natural increase of the population in the New Valley. In this sense, the increase in the incidence of diseases in the valley is not due to the lack of health facilities and workforce in the field of health. Rather, it is due to technical, economic, environmental and social reasons, including the lack of competence of some doctors due to the absence of a medical educational institution (Faculty of Medicine), low expenditure on health in general, unhealthy lifestyle, water pollution and other pathogenic factors that need a comprehensive survey of all residents of the valley to find out all common diseases and the causes of their spread. يتناول البحث الوضع الصحي في محافظة الوادي الجديد، بهدف الكشف عن ملامح هذا الوضع؛ للوقوف على مؤشرات الوضع الصحي في محافظة الوادي الجديد، ومدي توافر الخدمات الصحية في محافظة الوادي الجديد مقارنة بنظيرتها علي مستوي الجمهورية، والتعرف علي متوسط نصيب الفرد من الخدمات الصحة في محافظة الوادي الجديد مقارنة بعدد السكان علي مستوي الجمهورية. وكذلك للتعرف على الحالة الصحية لمحافظة الوادي الجديد، لتمكين المسئولين من وضع خطط مستقبلية للتصدي لظاهرة سوء التوزيع في المستقبل، ومعرفة أسباب تلقي بعض سكان الوادي الجديد للخدمات الصحية من محافظة أسيوط بدلاً من الوادي الجديد. وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في مراجعة الأدبيات ذات الصلة بموضوع الدراسة والمتاحة بالجامعات والمراكز البحثية المتخصصة، وكذلك التقارير المحلية والدولية، والإحصائيات الرسمية الصادرة عن الجهاز المركزي للتعبئة العامة والإحصاء، ووزارة الصحة والسكان لرصد واقع الوضع الصحي في مصر والعالم. كما اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج المقارن لمقارنة الوضع الصحي بمحافظة الوادي الجديد بالوضع الصحي العام للدولة. توصل البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج، تتلخص في أن متوسط نصيب المواطنين في محافظة الوادي الجديد من الخدمات الصحية والقوة البشرية العاملة في مجال الصحة يزيد علي متوسط نصيب أقرانهم على مستوي الجمهورية، وبالتالي تتمتع محافظة الوادي الجديد بنصيب وافر من المنشآت الصحية والقوة البشرية العاملة في مجال الصحة. وبالرغم من ذلك؛ فان الحالة الصحية لسكان محافظة الوادي الجديد تشير إلي ارتفاع عدد المرضى، وانخفاض معدل الخصوبة مقارنة بنسبة المرضى ومعدل الخصوبة علي مستوى الجمهورية، وبالتالي انخفاض نسبة الزيادة الطبيعية للسكان في الوادي الجديد. ومن هذا المنطلق؛ لا ترجع زيادة نسبة الأمراض في الوادي لنقص المنشآت الصحية والقوي العاملة في مجال الصحة، بل ترجع لأسباب فنية واقتصادية وبيئية واجتماعية منها غياب الكفاءة لدي بعض الأطباء نتيجة لغياب المؤسسة التعليمية الطبية (كلية الطب)، وانخفاض نسبة الإنفاق على الصحة بوجه عام، ونمط الحياة غير الصحي، وتلوث المياه وعوامل آخري ممرضة تحتاج لمسح شامل لكل سكان الوادي لمعرفة كافة الأمراض المنتشرة وأسباب انتشارها.
