لقد حرز الإمام أبو عبد الرحمن أحمد بن شعيب بن علي النسائي مكانة كبيرة في الحديث وعلم الرجال والعلل، فمن كتبه التي أصبحت مرجعا من مراجع الإسلام وواحد من دواوين السنة الشريفة كتاب السنن. وامتاز في كتابه السنن بقوة شرطه وانتقاءه للرجال حتى أنه نزل في جملة من الأحاديث لأنها لم تكن على شرطه. ومن الكتب التي امتاز بها الإمام النسائي كتاب: "خصائص علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه" فصنفه عندما دخل دمشق ووجد المنحرفين عن علي رضي الله عنه، ولم يكن رضي الله عنه شيعياً وإنما كان سنياً على عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة في الاعتقاد والاستدلال. وقد امتاز في كتابه الخصائص بمعالم كثيرة في الإسناد والمتن وسياق الروايات ونقدها، فمن تلك المعالم: انتقاء الشيوخ فقل أن تجد منهم متكلم فيه، وأيضا: دقته في صيغ الأداء في الرواية عن شيوخه. بيانه لمن أبهم من الرواة سواء كان من شيوخ شيوخه أو تابع التابعي أو حتى صحابي. تجد من منهجه في سياق الروايات تقديم الرواية الصحيحة ثم يذكر الضعيفة وهو الأكثر، وربما عكس ذلك. الاعتناء بذكر المتابعات والشواهد لحديث الباب. وقد تنوعت أحاديثه: فمنها ما كان على شرط الشيخين أو أحدهما، ومنها التي على شرطه، ومنها الضعيفة، وقد يصل إلى ما كان فيها نكارة. وامتاز كتابه بنقد الروايات، فيعلل بالمخالفة، وبالانقطاع، وبالجهالة، وبالخلاف.

His statement to one of the narrators of the narrators, whether he is from the elders of his elders or a follower of the follower or even a companion. You find one of his methods in the context of novels to present the correct narration and then mention the weak, which is the most, and perhaps the opposite. Take care to mention the follow-up and evidence of the hadith chapter. And his hadiths varied: some of them were not on the condition of the two sheikhs, or one of them, and some of them were on his condition, and some of them were weak, and he may reach what was in it an evil.
