المستخلص: سعت هذه الدراسة بمنهجية الاستقراء والتحليل إلى معاينة الدوافع الموضوعية التي حملت الخليل بن أحمد على استثناء "المتدارك" من أوزان الشعر العربي، وهو ما رمت إلى تحقيقه على قاعدة البحث في التأصيلات العروضية التي أُقيمت لهذا الوزن، وملاحظة مدى تكيفها مع المبادئ الأساسية لنظرية الخليل، كما خصصت الدراسة جزءا من شغلها المنهجي لإخضاع هذا الوزن لقوانين الإيقاع، وصولا إلى تحديد مدى استجابته لمبدأ النسبية والتناسب الذي يُعد ذا قيمة جذرية في تشكيل الأوزان. تبعا لذلك كان ثمة مبحثان لصياغة موضوع الدراسة، الأول تحت عنوان الإيقاع الشعري ومعيار التأصيل للمتدارك"، وقد نزع إلى الكشف عن الملابسات الإيقاعية التي تكتنف نشوء هذا الوزن، ولعل النتيجة الحاسمة التي تم التوصل إليها في هذا المبحث هي عدم استجابة "المتدارك" للمقتضيات الإيقاعية في تشكيل الأوزان. أما المبحث الآخر؛ فجاء تحت عنوان "المتدارك في المجال العروضي"، وقد قام على رصد التكيف بين مقولات العروضيين المتصلة بهذا الوزن، ومعايير إثبات الأوزان الشعرية، ولعل أبرز ما أسفر عنه هذا المبحث هو الوصول إلى نتيجة مؤداها عدم وجود اتساق بين ما أقره العروضيون، وما قامت عليه مبادئ النظرية الخليلية.

Through the inductive and analytical method, this study sought to examine the objective motives that led Al-Khalil bin Ahmed to exclude the "Mutadārik" meter from the meters of Arabic poetry. This is what it aimed to achieve on the basis of research in the prosody roots established for this meter and to note the extent to which it is adapted to the basic principles of the theory of Al-Khalil. The study also devoted part of its methodological work to subject this meter to the laws of rhythm in order to determine the extent to which it responds to the principle of relativity and proportionality, which is of fundamental value in the formation of meters. Accordingly, there were two chapters to formulate the subject of the study, the first under the title of poetic rhythm and the rooting criterion for the "Mutadārik." It tended to reveal the rhythmic circumstances surrounding the emergence of this meter. Perhaps the decisive result that was reached in this chapter is the lack of response of the "Mutadārik" to the rhythmic requirements in the formation of the meters. As for the other chapter, it came under the title "The Mutadārik in the Field of the Prosody," and it was based on monitoring the adaptation between the statements of the Prosodians related to this meter and the criteria for proving poetic weights. Perhaps the most prominent result of this chapter is reaching a conclusion that there is no consistency between what prosodians proved and upon which the principles of the Khalili theory are based.
