المستخلص: This research describes and analyzes the city of Lysimacheia, in terms of geographical location and its strategic importance during the Hellenistic period. Lysimacheia was established by King Lysimachus in 309 BC, and its archaeological excavations were revealed in 2006 and it is now the city of Bolayir. Lysimacheia is located in Thracian Chersonese, , at the entrance to Thrace and Europe, which gave the city important economic and strategic advantages, at the same time making it coveted by many kingdoms and powers such as Macedonia and the Ptolemaic and the Seleucid. The Thracians also viewed Lysimacheia as the obstacle that prevented them from contacting the Strait of Hellespontos and the Sea of Marmara and trade with Asia, and to take advantage of the resources of Chersonese, so they took great care to destroy the city twice, in the beginning of the second century BC, and in the year 144 BC. after being rebuilt by King Antiochus III, therefore, no force was keen to re-establish the city for a third time, despite the privileged location of this place, for fear of the fate awaiting it at the hands of the Thracians.
