المستخلص: نريد من خلال هذا المقال تحليل مفهوم المثقف عند واحد من أبرز الفاعلين الثقافيين في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين، أعني به إدوارد سعيد الذي استطاع في محاضرات ريث 1993م التي كانت تبث على الإذاعة البريطانية BBC أن يكاشف المثقف بحقيقة نسبيته ووظيفته، إن على مستوى المفهوم أو على مستوى الأدوار المنوطة به في عالم ما بعد الكولونيالية اتجاه مبادئه وشعبه والسلطة المقيمة بينهما وحتى الأعطاب التي تعترض فعله النقدي وعمله التنويري في تمثيل المهمشين وإحراج السلطة. ولا مناص في ذلك - وبمنطق من المقابسة - أن يدخل في حوار فكري مع أبرز الوجوه الفكرية التي بادءته بتحرير مفهوم المثقف من أمثال: جوليان بندا، سارر، فوكو وأنطونيو غرامشي ليفيد منها دون التماهي معها.

Nous nous proposons dans cet article d’analyser le concept d’intellectuel dans la pensée d’Edward Saïd. Pour ce faire, nous nous appuyons essentiellement sur les conférences Reith données par Saïd à la BBC en 1993, rassemblées ensuite dans un livre sous le titre Des intellectuels et du pouvoir. Dans ces célèbres conférences, Saïd développe une conception éthique et politique du rôle et de la place de l’intellectuel dans les sociétés d’aujourd’hui.

Through this article, we want to analyze the concept of an intellectual in the view of the most prominent cultural actors in the second half of the twentieth century, by which I mean Edward Said, who, in the 1993 Reith lectures broadcast on BBC radio, was able to reveal the intellectual about his relativity and function, whether at the level of concept or At the level of the roles assigned to him in the post-colonial world, the orientation of its principles, its people, the authority between them, and even the obstacles to his critical action and enlightening work in representing the marginalized and embarrassing power. It is inevitable that - and with a logic of a dialogue - he enters into intellectual dialogue with the most prominent intellectual figures who initiated it by liberalizing the concept of the intellectual, such as Julien Benda, Sarr, Foucault, and Antonio Gramsci to benefit from them without identifying with them.
