المستخلص: يعتبر العمل التطوعي الخيري ظاهرة إنسانية منذ أقدم الحضارات، بدأ بصورة فردية من خلال مساعدة الأفراد بعضهم بعضا، وتحول مع مرور الزمن وتقدم المجتمعات إلى صورة جماعية، وتعد المشاركة في الأعمال التطوعية الخيرية مطلبا دينيا واجتماعيا وحاجة إنسانية. وتكمن أهمية الدراسة من أهمية العمل التطوعي الخيري ودورة في إكساب القيم والاتجاهات الإيجابية وصقل شخصية الأفراد وتعميق الانتماء للمجتمع، ويمكن أن يستفيد من النتائج المسؤولون، من خلال اعتماد مساق العمل الخيري التطوعي كمادة إجبارية في الجامعات. وهدفت الدراسة للتعرف إلى دور العمل التطوعي الخيري في مساق المسؤولية المجتمعية في تنمية القيم المجتمعية والسلوك المدني لدى طلبة جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية، وقد تم اعتماد المنهجين الوصفي المسحي والنوعي، ولتنفيذ المنهج الوصفي تم إعداد أداتين للدراسة هما: مقياس القيم الاجتماعية، ومقياس السلوك المدني. وتم التأكد من صدقهما وثباتهما، وقد طبقت هذه المقاييس على عينة من الطلبة بلغت (280)، ولتنفيذ المنهج النوعي تم توزيع العديد من الأسئلة المفتوحة على عينة بلغت (50) طالبا وطالبة، و أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى للتطبيق البعدي على مقياس القيم المجتمعية والسلوك المدني، كما أظهرت نتائج البحث النوعي أن أهم فوائد العمل التطوعي أنه نمى شخصيتهم وزاد من ثقتهم بأنفسهم، وأصبح لديهم شعور بأنهم قادرون على العطاء، كما تبين أن من أهم معيقاته أنه يحتاج إلى إمكانات مادية، والخجل من القيام ب الأعمال التطوعية. وقد أوصت الدراسة بنشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي الخيري ضمن المناهج والكتب الدراسية في مراحل التعليم العام والجامعي.

Charity volunteer work is a human phenomenon since the earliest civilizations. It began individually by helping individuals to each other and turning with the passage of time and development of societies to collectively. Participation in volunteer work is religious and social requirement and a human need. The significance of study results from importance of charitable volunteerism and its role in bringing positive values and attitudes, improvement personalities of individuals and deepening of community. The results could benefit administrators by adopting charity voluntary work as mandatory course in universities This study aimed to investigate the role of voluntary charity work in the course of community responsibility in developing the social values and the civic behavior among the students of the Jordanian University of Science and Technology. The study used both the descriptive and qualitative methodologies. The researchers prepared and implemented a number of voluntary charity projects. The researcher built two instruments, one for measuring the social values and one for the civic behaviors and established their validity and reliability. The sample of the study consisted of 280 students who studied the course. In order to implement the qualitative methodology a number of open ended questions were applied on 50 students. The results of the study revealed statistically significant differences in the social values and civic behaviors due to the implementation of the course. The results of the analysis of the qualitative questions also revealed that the major benefits of volunteering that outgrew their personality and confidence, feeling that they have become able to tender. With regard to the obstacles of the voluntary work, it was found that the financial sources and ashamed of doing volunteer work were the most challenges. The study recommended charitable voluntary work culture within the curriculum and textbooks in public education and university education.
