المستخلص: فقد اهتم الإسلام بحفظ العورات وصيانتها عن التكشف وبين حدودها أمام الجنسين وأمام الجنس من النوع نفسه، وشرع وسائل لحفظها. ويترتب على حفظ العورات حفظ الأعراض التي هي من الضرورات التي جاء الإسلام بحفظها، وفي العصر الحديث ظهر التساهل في حفظ العورات خاصة أمام المحارم، والأطفال، خلصت الدراسة إلى: أن الشارع أجاز كشف العورة في بعض الحالات، وقيد ذلك بالقدر الذي تندفع به الضرورة، وأن عورة المرأة أمام محارمها ما يظهر منها عادة عند قيامها بالخدمة، ودرجته تختلف حسب القرب، والأمن من الفتنة، وأن عورة المرأة أمام الطفل المميز كعورتها أمام المحارم، أما الطفل المراهق كعورتها أمام البالغ.

Islam pays due attention to protecting and preserving the woman’s body parts from being exposed to others. So, it has prescribed specified limits for the body parts that a woman may show before males and females, and set some rules to keep these parts honorably concealed. These rules aim to preserve the honor as one of the essentials that Islam orders to preserve. Recently, it was noticed that the commitment to cover these specific body parts, especially in front of unmarriageable males and children, is not strictly observed. The study concluded that the Islamic Law has permitted women to expose these body parts only to the necessary extent. These woman’s body parts to show before her unmarriageable male are restricted to the parts that may normally be shown in the course of her ordinary duties. The limit differs according to the degree of relation and the risk of sexual temptation (fitnah). The body parts that the women have to cover in front of young children are the same as those they have to cover before their unmarriageable males. Likewise, they have to cover the same parts before both the adolescent and the adults.
