|b This paper investigates the common discursive formulas and expression in religious discourse and sermons in both Arabic and German. These formulas are key to understanding language logic and use in theology as well as deepen our awareness of native speakers’ culture. The paper discusses these formulas in detail, in terms of their form, structure, semantic features and social-pragmatic functions in view of selected texts from Arabic and German homilies. The material provides real-life models and distinctive stereotypes of lexis and formulas in this genre. The formulas include a wide range of optional, collective, nominal phrases with an emotional religious dimension, typically used to launch into homilies and speeches given at religious-social gatherings. In most cases, they cover such topics as maintaining solidarity, belonging and equality among communication parties, though metaphorically using lexis from the ‘kinship’ semantic field. The paper also explains how these formulas are socially functional when it comes to communicating with addressees, determining the nature of speaker-addressee relation and attempting to introduce a given topic. In addition, the indirect discursive formulas and vocative particles commonly used in Arabic to start talking are explored. Finally, learning the discursive formulas used in religious discourse and sermons in both Arabic and German helps better understand the religious and cultural background of, and potential differences between, both languages.

|d Die vorliegende Untersuchung befasst sich pauschal mit dem Begriff, der formalen Struktur, den semantischen Eigenschaften und den soziopragmatischen Aspekten und Funktionen der zeremoniellen bzw. religiös geprägten Anredeausdrücke im Deutschen und Arabischen. Darin sind auch dazugehörige indirekte Anredeformulierungen und Vokativpartikeln einbezogen. Zur Exemplifizierung des Arbeitsvorhabens werden deutsche und arabische Predigttexte herangezogen, die in der Tat typische Muster für zeremonielle Anredeausdrücke geben und wiederum als Spiegelbilder einer soziokommunikativ geordneten Koexistenz der Mitglieder der jeweiligen Sprachgemeinschaft betrachtet werden. Zeremonielle Anredeausdrücke kommen als sprachlich einleitende Nominalanredeformen für Gruppen am Anfang religiös geprägter Kommunikationsakte vor. Dabei stehen wesentlich die Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Kommunikationspartner und die Einleitung zur Berührung des Kommunikationsthemas sowie die Herstellung der Aufmerksamkeit im Vordergrund. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden ausführlich die soziopragmatischen Aspekte und Funktionen zeremonieller Anredeformen sowie die metaphorische Verwendung von Verwandtschaftsbezeichnungen als Anedeausdrücke erörtert. Es geht dabei vor allem um Demonstration einer vertrauten Beziehung, der Solidarität und Gleichwertigkeit zwischen allen Gesprächspartnern. Damit bezweckt der vorliegende Beitrag, soziolinguistische und kulturspezifische Erkenntnisse über zeremonielle Anredeausdrücke im Deutschen und Arabischen zu bieten und diesbezügliche Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Sprachen hervorzuheben
