520 |b This article was born from our experience based on personal readings and interpretations of Dante's punishments and which led us to reflect on investigating what could be the sources of this text? How could one teach and lead the student to develop text comprehension skills? How leading him to reflect on the content of the texts by relating his previous knowledge. To answer our questions and achieve our goals we have divided this article into three parts connected to each other; (i) the first part, that of Dante's penalties which represents a model of an Italian literary text; (ii) the second part concerns the reading of the literary text as a source of understanding and, finally, (iii) the didactics of understanding the written text based on previous knowledge. We concluded the article by reporting the experiment carried out in the classroom with our students, entering the results, our conclusions and our suggestions. 
520 |d L’articolo è partito da una nostra esperienza basata sulle letture e interpretazioni personali delle pene dantesche e che ci hanno portato alla riflessione di indagare quali potrebbero essere le fonti di tale testo? Come si potrebbe insegnare e portare lo studente a sviluppare le competenze della comprensione del testo? Oltre a portarlo a fare delle riflessioni sul contenuto dei testi mettendo in relazione le sue preconoscenze. Per rispondere alle nostre domande e raggiungere i nostri obbiettivi abbiamo diviso questo articolo in tre parti connessi tra di loro; (i) la prima parte, quella delle pene dantesche che rappresenta un modello di testo letterario italiano; (ii) la seconda parte riguarda la lettura del testo letterario come fonte di comprensione e, infine, (iii) la didattica della comprensione del testo scritto basandosi sulle conoscenze pregresse. Abbiamo concluso l’articolo riportando l’esperimento realizzato in classe con i nostri studenti, inserendo i risultati, le nostre conclusioni ed i nostri suggerimenti.
