المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث الإشكاليات التي أحاطت بشعر التفعيلة في بدايته، متمثلة بالمحاولات التجريبية في الشعر العربي الحديث التي أدت إلى ظهور شعر التفعيلة بعد ذلك مثل: الشعر المرسل عند بعض الشعراء، والمزج بين البحور الشعرية عند أحمد زكي أبي شادي وغيرها، مما دفع الدارسين إلى الاهتمام بالبحث عن الأسباب التي أدت إلى ظهور شعر التفعيلة والاهتمام به، ويلقي البحث الضوء أيضا على إشكالية الريادة في هذا الشعر، وإشكالية التسمية أو المصطلح، وكيفية تلقيه في النقد الحديث بين مؤيد له من جهة، ورافض له من جهة أخرى. ويهدف البحث إلى تتبع بدايات ظهور شعر التفعيلة، وبيان بعض الإشكاليات التي أحاطت به، وكذلك بيان مدى اختلاف الآراء حوله اختلافا يصل إلى حد التناقض أحيانا، وكذلك الاهتمام برأي نازك الملائكة التي نظرت لهذا الشعر في مقدمة ديوانيها: "شظايا ورماد" و"شجرة القمر"، ومقدمة كتابها "قضايا الشعر المعاصر". وقد توصل البحث إلى نتائج نذكر منها: اختلاف المحاولات في تغيير الشكل الشعري عند الشعراء، مما يعني إدراك الشعراء لحاجتهم للتغيير من أجل التعبير عن قضايا. جديدة، وكذلك لم يكن شعر التفعيلة ثورة على العروض الخليلي بشكل كلي، وإنما هو اعتماد عليه بأسلوب مختلف، مما يثبت أهمية الأوزان التي وضعها الخليل، وعدم قدرة الشعراء على التخلي عنها في نظم القصيدة والمحافظة على موسيقاها.

This research deals with the difficulties that faced the rhythmic poetry in its beginning. This is represented in attempts at modern Arabic poetry that led to the rise of rhythm poetry such as Al – Mursal poetry among some poets or blending between poetry verses by Ahmad Zaki Abu shady and others. This led researchers to show interest in the reasons behind the rise of rhythm poetry. This research also sheds light on the problem of pioneering in this poetry and the problem of naming or labeling as a term. It also dealt with the way in which this poetry has been received by modern critics whether advocated or proponents. This study also tracked the beginnings of this type of poetry in an attempt to highlight the problems that faced it. It further examined the controversies that arose regarding the conflicting positions taken towards it. For example, special attention was paid to how Nazik Al Mala'ika viewed this poetry in the introduction of her anthology book: "Shathaya and Ramad" and "Shajarat Al Qamar (Moon Tree) as well as her book:" Issues in Contemporary Poetry". The study revealed differences in the attempts to change the poetry form which showed that poets were realizing their need for change in order to express new matters. In addition, the study showed that rhythmic poetry was not a revolution against Alkhalili "Aroud" verses; but rather depending on it in a different way. This proves the significance of rhymes set by Al Khalil and the inability of poets to abandon it in the structure and music of the poem in general.
