|a تتغير الخصائص المورفولوجية مع تغير العوامل المؤثرة عليها فقد تبين أن نهر دجلة يمتلك خصائص مورفولوجية ذات قيم منخفضة من حيث العمق والعرض والمحيط المبلول والانحدار وهي بدورها اثرت على الخصائص المورفولوجية الأخرى من حيث اتجاه ونمط الجريان وجاء ذلك من خلال دراسة 48 مقطع عرضي مأخوذ لنهر دجلة سنة 2008 بواقع مقطع لكل 1 كم، فقد تبين أن معدل عرض نهر دجلة لا يتجاوز 221.1 متر ومعدل العمق بلغ 3.9 متر أما المحيط المبتل بلغ 268.9 متر وتغيرت مساحة المقاطع العرضية من مقطع لأخر بمعدل بلغ 4594.3 متر مربع، ومن خلال الدراسة اتضح أن الجزء الثاني من النهر يعد الأكثر انخفاضاً في القيم المورفولوجية من حيث العمق والعرض ومساحة المقطع العرضي، وقد تبين ان نهر دجلة ذات كفاءه منخفضة من حيث قابلية المجرى من الحفاظ على كمية المياه الواردة وهذه الخصائص لا تستوعب التصريف الاستثنائي.
