المستخلص: منذ أن بعث الله رسوله محمد وأنزل معه كتابه الكريم؛ والمنكرون المعاندون يحاولون النيل من صدق دعوته بتكذيبه مرة أو بالطعن بهذا الكتاب الكريم تارة أخرى. وقد أظهر عجزهم عن مجاراة القرآن الكريم في أساليبه وبلاغته التحدي الذي ساقه مرارا وتكرار على مسامعهم أن يأتوا بمثله، بل بأقل من ذلك بكثير وذلك بأية من مثله؛ وهم أهل الفصاحة وفرسان البيان، فلم يجرؤوا على ذلك وإنما أخذوا يوجهون سهام طعنهم فيه من جهة مصدره وقائله وأحيانا راحوا يشككون ببعض ألفاظه وأساليبه اللغوية. وبذلك نشأ (علم مشكل القرآن) الذي يهدف إلى بيان الآيات التي التبست على بعض الناس واشتبهت، فلم يستبينوا المراد منها، ويدفع كل ما يورده الطاعنون على القرآن من دعاوى التعارض، أو الاضطراب، أو التناقض، أو الاختلاف، ويزيل ما يتبادر إلى بعض الأذهان من معان غير مرادة قطعا. فكان من أوائل الذين صنفوا في هذا العلم ابن قتيبة (ت 276 هـ)، الذي ألف كتابه القيم: (تأويل مشكل القرآن)، فوقف عند القضايا المشكلة فيه دافعا تلك التهم واحدة تلو الأخرى لإثبات تفوقه وإعجازه فقد بادر في صدر كتابه ببيان أن القرآن معجز بتأليفه البديع ونظمه العجيب.

Since God sent His Messenger Muhammad and sent down his noble book with him; The stubborn deniers try to undermine the sincerity of his call by denying him one time or by challenging this noble book at another time. Their inability to keep pace with the Holy Qur’an in its methods and rhetoric has shown the challenge that it has repeatedly made to their ears to come up with something like it, but with much less than that by any of the like. They are the people of eloquence and the knights of the statement; they did not dare to do that. Rather, they started pointing arrows that they stabbed in it from the point of its source and who said it, and sometimes they began to question some of his words and linguistic methods. Thus arose (the science of problematic Qur’an) which aims to clarify the verses that some people have confused and suspected, but they did not clarify what they meant, and it pushes all the claims that the appellants against the Qur’an contain from claims of contradiction, confusion, contradiction, or disagreement, and removes what comes to some minds of the meanings not wanted. One of the first to classify this science was Ibn Qutaybah (d.276 AH), who wrote his book: (Interpretation of the problem of the Qur’an). He stood at the issues in it, pushing those accusations one after the other, to prove his superiority and miraculous.
