المستخلص: This article aims to examine the methodology of Hafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in his treatise al-Hikam al-Jadirah bi ’l-Idha’ah. Since the hadith is the second important source of Islamic teachings and laws after the Qur’an, Muslim scholars worked hard from the very beginning to memorize, understand, and preserve it. One of the prominent names among these scholars is of Hafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, who authored many books on this subject. The methodology of Ibn Rajab is unique in terms of his critical assessment of hadiths from the aspects of their text and chains. Therefore, this research work has focused on his methodology in the light of his famous treatise al-Hikam al-Jadirah bi ’l-Idha’ah.
