|a تعتبر رواية "بيت أوراق الشجر" للروائي مارك ز. دانييلوسكي أحد أهم الأعمال في أدب الرواية المعاصر. لذا فإن هذه الدراسة تهدف إلى دراسة أسلوب دانييلوسكى الفريد في توظيف مجموعة واسعة من عناصر السرد المعروفة في رواية ما بعد الحداثة؛ النص الشبكي، والتشظي في بنيوية النص، والمتناقضات السردية، والراوي غير الموثوق به. وتوضح الدراسة أنه في حين يستخدم دانييلوسكي هذه الإستراتيجيات السردية لأدب ما بعد الحداثة بشكل مبتكر، فإن ما يجعل عمله متفردا لا يكمن في الطريقة التي يدمج فيها دانييلوسكى هذه العناصر في روايته فحسب بل في كيفية لهذه العناصر. كما تتناول الدراسة دور المتلقي باعتباره مشاركا نشطا في بناء النص وتفكيكه، فإن دانييلوسكي لا يتحدى عملية تفسير النص للقراء فحسب، بل يشكك في الخطاب الحالي حول أساليب بناء الأعمال الأدبية وتفسيراتها، مستشرفا بذلك خصائص وسمات جديدة للرواية الغربية ترمى إلى ما وراء ما بعد الحداثة.

|b This study considers Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves, one of the most compelling works in contemporary fiction. The study closely examines Danielewski’s unique style of employing a wide array of postmodern narrative elements in his work: fragmentation, hypertextual structure, paradox, unreliable narration, and metafiction. The study demonstrates that whereas Danielewski innovatively uses these postmodern narrative strategies, what makes his work unique lies in the way he subverts these elements. The study further argues that by foregrounding the readers’ role as an active participant in the construction and deconstruction of the text, Danielewski not only challenges the readers’ process of interpreting the text, but calls into question the existing scholarly discourse revolving around the construction and interpretation of postmodern literature, thereby announcing the death of postmodernism and the birth of the new trend of post-postmodernism.
