المستخلص: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على مفهوم البيانات الضخمة، وخصائصها، وتطبيقاها، والكشف عن البيانات الضخمة في مكتبة الملك فهد الوطنية؛ وذلك من خلال التعرف على المصادر، التي يمكن أن تشكل محتوى البيانات الضخمة، في مكتبة الملك وفهد، والتعرف على الصعوبات التي تواجهها في الاستفادة من البيانات الضخمة، كما هدفت إلى التعرف على سلوكيات المستفيدين المكتبة، والتنبؤ بالاحتياجات المستقبلية. اتبعت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي، باستخدام أسلوب دراسة الحالة، وتم استخدام أداة الاستبانة لجمع بيانات الدراسة، وتوزيعها على العاملين، في مكتبة الملك فهد الوطنية، وبعد إجراءات التحليل، خرجت الدراسة بنتائج، أبرزها أن أفراد عينة الدراسة يتفقون على المصادر، التي يمكن أن تشكل محتوى البيانات الضخمة، في مكتبة الملك فهد الوطنية؛ وهي فهرس المكتبة، والخدمات المرجعية، والمصادر الإلكترونية، والعمليات الإلكترونية داخل المكتبة، ويتفقون على الصعوبات، التي تواجه المكتبة، في الاستفادة من البيانات الضخمة؛ وهي قلة المتخصصين في عملية تحليل البيانات الضخمة، وأنه لا توجد ندوات ملتقيات، تتناول موضوع البيانات الضخمة، بجانب التكلفة المالية العالية جدا، ويتفقون أيضا على الأساليب المناسبة، لمعرفة الاحتياجات المستقبلية للمستفيدين من مصادر البيانات؛ وهي برامج حليل بيانات الخدمات المرجعية، وخدمة البث الانتقائي للمعلومات، والاستبانة، والمقابلة. وقدمت الباحثة عدة توصيات بناء على تلك النتائج، أهمها: مبادرة المكتبات، بتأهيل موظفيها لمهارات استخدام البيانات الضخمة، ولعمليات التنقيب عن البيانات، وتحليلها.

This study aims to describe the concept of big data, and features, and applications of the big data. Also, to uncover the big data in the King Fahd National Library by identifying the sources that can constitute the big data content in the library and identifying the difficulties that it faces in utilizing the big data. In addition, the study also aims to identifies the beneficiaries behavior from the library and anticipate the future needs. Based on the nature of the study and its objectives, the researcher followed the descriptive approach using the case study method. The questionnaire was used to collect the data of the study and distribute it to the employees in the King Fahd National Library, and then the questionnaire was analyzed and interpreted. After the analysis was done, the study came out with results, most notably. That the sample members agree on the sources, which can be the content of the big data, in the King Fahd National Library which are; the library index, reference services, electronic resources, electronic processes within the library. That the members of the study sample agree on the difficulties faced by the library to benefit from the big data such as; the lack of specialists in the process of analyzing big data, and that there are no seminars and forums, dealing with the subject of big data besides to the very high financial cost. They also agree on the appropriate methods to identify the future needs of users of data sources such as; reference data analysis software, selective data transmission service, questionnaire and interview. The researcher presented several recommendations based on these results, the most important of which are The Libraries Initiative to train its staff in the skills of use big data contents, data mining and analyzing.
