المستخلص: The history of the city of Damascus is quiet unique, it attracted all the merchants of its time because of its strategic geographical situation as a crossroads between China, Saoudi arabia and many other kingdoms and cities as well as many conquerors of the eastern world which envied her situation and her wealth. Her architecture could also be envied, it was as sober and humble from the outside as amazingly beautiful in the inside. So were beit djabri, beit nizam and so many others. These houses belonged to the richest families of Damascus. The care that they brought to them is even 2 centuries later still remarkable, whether in terms of architecture to make the daily life easier especially in these hot places of the globe, or artistically for the simple pleasure of living in a beautiful place. The know-how of these people has been revealed and studied (still today) by archeologists from all over the world. Fortunately, the owner descendants found(discovered) a subtle way to give these old and valuable houses a second pulse (life, breath); turning them into restaurants to gather the required amount of money to restore and preserve these jewels of human creativity is undoutedly a brilliant idea that will certainly allow these houses to last more so that the coming generations can admire them as a stroke of the genius of their ancestors."
