"Ahmed Tawfiq Al-Madani, was pertaining to two distinct origins: Algerian and Tunisian. He grew up under Abd Aziz Thaalbi’s directives, and was considered as one of the most prominent religious man of his period (1920’s). Historically speaking, the French tyrannical colonies forced him to leave Tunisia, so the only shelter he found was Algeria. He came to Algeria with a scientific knowledge and a great political training that enabled him to carry on struggling for independence and freedom from colonial oppression. The various events of prisons and struggles were a union mediator between Tunisia and Algeria. So, all the experiences he faced, he wrote them down on his book named: ''Life struggle'' which talked about his personal career. His masterpiece was divided into four stages: - The first phase was in Tunisia which expended from birth to the period of exile 1925. - The second phase was in Algeria from 1925 to 1954. - The third stage was around the revolution from 1954 to 1962. - The fourth and final stage, discussed the period after the armed revolution from 1962 to 1973. In this article, the focus will be on the quality of the struggling activities led by Ahmed Tawfiq al-Madani as the mediator between Tunisia and Algeria. Now, who was Ahmed Tawfiq al-Madani? Moreover, how was his mediation between Tunisia and Algeria? And, what were his most important positions and his reformist ideas?" |
