المستخلص: المفاهيم مفاتيح أساسية لفهم أي علم. وفي علم الاجتماع هناك مفاهيم ذات دلالات متقاربة، وقد يستخدمها الباحثون للتعبير عن وقائع اجتماعية متباينة. وفي هذه الورقة جمعت الباحثة الرسائل الجامعية التي ورد في عناوينها مفهوم تحول / تحولات، ثم قامت بتحليل الدلالات العامة لاستخدام هذا المفهوم في الرسائل الجامعية التي تمثل بدورها الجزء الأكبر مما ننتجه من بحث اجتماعي. ويأتي هذا الجهد ضمن محاولة الباحثة مراجعة الدراسات السابقة عن التحولات المجتمعية في المجتمع المصري في إطار إعدادها لرسالة الدكتوراه لقد اطلعت الباحثة على ما يزيد عن ألف عنوان وملخص لرسائل جامعية تم إجازتها في عشرة جامعات، وذلك للتعرف على صور استخدام المفهوم، وعن الدلالات المتنوعة للوقائع الاجتماعية التي درس الباحثون تلك التحولات من خلالها، وكذلك معرفة نطاق التحولات ومداها الزمني وغيرها لقد اتضح للباحثة أن هناك حوالي ستين رسالة جامعية درست التحولات المجتمعية مع تركيز خاص على التحولات السياسية والاقتصادية. وتنوعت الدراسات ما بين وصف مظاهر التحول، وتحديد أسبابه ورصد آثاره. ولم تجد الباحثة أية دراسة تقدم استشرافا للتحولات المجتمعية في المستقبل. وقد لفت نظر الباحثة أن هذا المفهوم أكثر شيوعا في عناوين الرسائل الجامعية في جامعة عين شمس. وقد خلصت الباحثة إلى أن الباحثين لم يقصروا استخدام هذا المفهوم على وثف تلك التغيرات الجذرية الراديكالية الشاملة التي تحدث أثرا واضحا في بناء المجتمع ووظائفه.

Concepts are essential keys to understanding any science. In sociology, there are concepts with converging connotations, and researchers may use them to express various social realities. In this paper, the researcher collected university theses whose titles contained the concept of transformation / transformations, then analyzed the general implications of using this concept in university theses, which in turn represent the bulk of what we produce from social research. This effort comes as part of the researcher’s attempt to review previous studies on societal transformations in the Egyptian society. As part of her preparation for her doctoral thesis, the researcher has seen more than a thousand titles and abstracts of university dissertations that have been approved in ten universities. In order to get acquainted with the images of the use of the concept, and the various connotations of the social realities through which the researchers studied those transformations, as well as knowledge of the scope and extent of the transformations and others. It became clear to the researcher that there are about sixty university dissertations that studied societal transformations with a special focus on political and economic transformations. The studies varied between describing the manifestations of transformation, identifying its causes and monitoring its effects. The researcher did not find any study that provides an outlook for future societal transformations. It drew the researcher's attention that this concept is more common in university thesis titles at Ain Shams University. The researcher concluded that the researchers did not limit the use of this concept to the documentation of those radical and comprehensive changes that have a clear impact on the building of society and its functions.
