لقد كانت الثورة الجزائرية ومازالت ملهمة الشعراء الذين سخروا أقلامهم وحياتهم ثمنا للانعتاق من قمع الاستعمار الغاشم أينما كان ووجد، فكان الشعراء الجزائريون، ومنهم الشاعر الثوري، والبطل المجاهد "مفدي زكريا" مشاركا في الثورة التحريرية بشعره في كل مكان داخل الوطن وخارجه، كما بقي نموذجا وفيا للمثقف الشاعر في البحث عن آليات التغيير والمساهمة فيه عبر كل الأصعدة حتى ساهم بشكل مباشر في نهضة أمته الجزائر.
