المستخلص: لقد عرفت أدوات البحث الأنثروبولوجي تطورات عديدة بداية من الأعمال الاثنوغرافية الوصفية التي قام بها عديد الرحالة في حضارة مختلفة، إلى توظيف آلات التصوير، والاعتماد على التصوير الفوتوغرافي في تصوير مظاهر وظواهر مختلفة، وتوثيق المعطيات الميدانية المحصلة من خلال المعايشة والمـلاحظة، ولاحقا تم استخدام أدوات أكثر تطورا أدت إلى حدوث تطور في الأنثروبولوجيا من ناحية الموضوع والمنهج ويتعلق الأمر تحديدا باستخدام وسائط تخزين جديدة إضافة إلى استعمال الكاميرا، كل هذا أدى إلى ظهور ما يسمى بالفيلم الاثنوغرافي، وسوف يسهم كل هذا فيما بعد إلى بروز فرع جديد من فروع الأنثروبولوجيا سمي بالأنثروبولوجيا المرئية.

Anthropological research tools have known many developments, beginning with the descriptive ethnographic works carried out by many travelers in a different civilization, the use of cameras, relying on photography to portray different aspects and phenomena, and documenting the field data obtained through coexistence and observation. More sophisticated tools have led to an evolution of anthropology in terms of subject matter and methodology, specifically with the use of new storage media as well as the use of the camera, all of which led to the emergence of the so-called ethnographic film, creating a new branch of anthropology called visual anthropology.

Les outils de la recherche en anthropologie ont connu divers développements depuis les travaux ethnographiques déscrptifs des voyageurs à travers plusieurs civilisations, jusqu’à l’utilisation des appareils photos et l’adoption de la photographie dans la prise de vues de manifestations et divers phénomènes et l’archivage des données de terrain obtenues à partir des experiences vécues et de l’observation. Plutard, des outils plus sophistiqués ont permis une évolution de l’anthropologie sur les deux plans, celui du sujet et celui de la méthode. Il s’agit plus précisément, de l’utilisation des nouveaux medias de stockage, en plus de l’utilisation de la camera. Tout cela a mené à l’apparition du film ethnographique. Tout cela également, a permis par la suite, de voir naître une nouvelle branche qui s’appelle l’anthropologie visuelle.
