|a توصف عملية التحول الديمقراطي بأنها الفترة الزمنية التي تمر بين الانتقال من النظام السلطوي إلى النظام الديمقراطي، وشهد خلالها المجتمع عددا من الصراعات بهدف إرضاء مصالح من يقودون عملية التحول، وقد بينت العديد من الدراسات بأن هناك صلات قوية بين مختلف العوامل الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية والثقافية داخل المجتمع وبين وجود مؤسسات ديمقراطية، كما أن أسباب وعوامل وكذلك مراحل التحول الديمقراطي تختلف بصورة جذرية من مكان إلى آخر، ومن فترة زمنية إلى أخرى، بينما يرى البعض الآخر من الدراسات بأن التحول الديمقراطي هو بالأساس صنع القيادة السياسية التي لديها الرغبة والمهارة من أجل إحداثه.

|f The process of democratization is described as the period of time that passes between the transition from an authoritarian regime to a democratic system, during which society witnesses a number of conflicts in order to satisfy the interests of those who lead the transition process. Many studies have shown that there are strong links between various social, economic, political, and cultural factors within society and the existence of democratic institutions. The causes and factors as well as the stages of democratic transition vary radically from one place to another and from one period of time to another.
