بدأت الدراسات المستقبلية مع بداية القرن العشرين في الثقافة العالمية وقد نشأت وتطورت في الغرب وخاصة في الولايات المتحدة ودول أوربا. وانتقل التوجه نحو المستقبل إلى الكتابات العربية باعتبار الكتابة عنصر مهم في تأصيل أي توجه ثقافي لدى أي ثقافة مغايرة وتعتبر الباحثة أن الكتابة تعد مدخلا لتوطين عناصر جديدة في أي ثقافة، وإن لم تكن هي المدخل الوحيد في تحقيق ذلك. وفى هذه الورقة حصرت الباحثة الأعمال المكتوبة باللغة العربية والتي تحوي دلالة ذات صلة بالتوجه المستقبلي كمقدمة لتوطين الدراسات المستقبلية كتخصص أكاديمي جديد على الثقافة العربية المصرية. ومن بين عدد يصل إلى سبعة آلاف عمل مكتوب تم جمعه بواسطة فريق كبير تم إعادة نشر عناوينه وملخصاته في عدد 12 مجلد بعنوان "الملخصات السوسيولوجية" استخلصت الباحثة الكتابات العربية ذات التوجه نحو المستقبل ورتبتها زمنيا عبر حوالي 75 سنة وصولا إلى نهاية القرن العشرين. وقد رصدت بذلك تطور الكتابات العربية التي حملت توجهات نحو المستقبل والتي بدأت بمجرد إشارات مرسلة في عناوين تلك الأعمال، وانتهت بتوفير مادة علمية عن الدراسات المستقبلية كتخصص علمي وخاصة في جانبها المرتبط بفرع علم اجتماع المستقبل. وقد انتهت الباحثة إلى أن الثقافة العربية باتت تحتوي على عدد من الكتابات التي تؤصل لفهم الدراسات المستقبلية وممارساتها حتى هذا التاريخ (نهاية القرن العشرين).
Future studies began with the beginning of the twentieth century in world culture, and it arose and developed in the West, especially in the United States and European countries. The orientation towards the future has moved to Arabic writings as writing is an important element in the Transmission of any cultural orientation in any other culture. The researcher considers that writing is an entry point for the settlement of new elements in any culture, even if it is not the only entrance to achieving this. In this paper, the researcher surveyed the Arabic writings that contain indications related to the future orientation as an introduction to the indigenization of future studies as a new academic discipline on Egyptian Arab culture. From a number of up to seven thousand written works collected by a large team whose titles and abstracts were republished in 12 volumes entitled "Sociological Summaries", the researcher extracted Arab writings with a future orientation and arranged them in chronological order over about 75 years up to the end of the twentieth century. By this, she monitored the development of Arabic writings that carried orientations towards the future, which began with mere references sent in the titles of these works, and ended with the provision of scientific material on future studies as a scientific specialization, especially in the aspect related to the branch of Futuristic Sociology. The researcher concluded that Arab culture now contains a number of writings that provide an understanding of future studies and their practices up to this date (the end of the twentieth century).
