إن القراءة النقدية لأي عمل إبداعي تقتضي القيام بإجراءات تحليلية تؤدي إلى سبر اغواره لاكتشاف دلالاته التي لا تبدو واضحة للقراءة الأولى، إذ المعلوم أن للأساليب الانشائية كالأمر والنهي والاستفهام والنداء دورا فاعلا وكبيرا في تماسك النص الأدبي وتنوع دلالاته واختلاف مقصدتيه وعليه فإن دراسة الاستفهام في النص الشعري وإيضاح دلالاته وتحولاته يعد مقصدا مهما من مقاصد دراسة الاسلوب في الاعمال الادبية الإبداعية يعني هذا البحث بدراسة بنية الاستفهام في ديوان (ازهار واساطير) للشاعر بدر شاكر السياب، دراسة إحصائية أسلوبية غايتها ابراز عمل بنية الاستفهام في هذا المنجز الشعري، لما للاستفهام من تنوع دلالي على المستويين الشكلي والمضموني، إذ يؤدي كل من المستويين دوره الوظيفي في بناء النص وتماسكه وقدرته على التأثير والامتاع معا. إن المسوغ الفني لاختيار هذا الديوان مجالا لهذه الدراسة يكمن في انه يحوي نصوص ا غنية يمكن للباحث ان يصل إلى النتائج المتوخاة ضمن المنهج الذي تقترحه الدراسة. وقد اعتمد الباحث في دراسته هذه ديوان بدر شاكر السياب الصادر عن دار العودة -بيروت عام ١٩٧١ الذي يحو ي خمس مجموعات شعرية تتصدرها مجموعته – محل الدراسة (أزهار واساطير) ولعل سبب الاختيار هذا يعود إلى الدقة في ضبط النصوص الشعرية التي يحويها هذا الديوان، آملين ان يكون هذا البحث اسهاما في تحلية الابداع في هذا المنجز الشعري، والله من وراء القصد.
