المستخلص: " تناول البحث دراسة اتجاهات الطلبة الجامعين نحو انتشار الشائعات في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، دراسة مسحية على طلبة كلية الاتصال بجامعة الشارقة، وهدف البحث إلى التعرف على الإشباعات المتحققة من انتشار الشائعات، وكشف العوامل المتهيئة لانتشار الشائعات في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي لدى الطلبة الجامعين. وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي وأداة الاستبانة كأداة لجمع المعلومات. وتوصل البحث إلى عدة نتائج، منها: أن الشائعات الأكثر انتشارا في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من حيث الإطار الزماني هي: الشائعات التي تنتشر بسرعة بين الناس، والشائعات التي ترتبط بظروف خاصة ثم تختفي، والشائعات التي تنتقل ببطء وبطريقة سرية بين الناس، وأن الشائعات الأكثر انتشارا في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من حيث الجهة المستهدفة هي: الشائعات الفردية التي تطلق على فرد معين كالفنانين ونجوم المجتمع، والشائعات التي تتعلق بالشخصيات البارزة في الدولة، والشائعات الجماعية التي تستهدف مجموعة من الناس، والشائعات المجتمعية التي تستهدف المجتمع ككل. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة التوعية الإعلامية بخطورة الشائعات عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي وآثارها على المجتمع من خلال تنظيم المحاضرات والندوات، وتفعيل دور المؤسسات التعليمية والجامعات في توضيح أخطار الشائعات على المجتمع."

The research addressed the university students’ Attitudes towards the spread of rumors in social media, a survey study of students in the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah. The aim of the research to identify gratifications realized from the spread of rumors and detecting the precipitating factors for the spread of rumors on social media among university students. The researcher used descriptive methodology and questionnaire as an essential tool for collecting information. Some of the important results of the research are: The rumors that are most prevalent in social media in terms of period are the rumors that spread quickly among people, the rumors that are related to special circumstances and then disappear, Rumors that travel slowly and secretly among people. In addition, the rumors that are most widespread on social media in terms of the target party are the individual rumors about a specific individual as artists and community stars, the rumors concerning prominent personalities in the state, the collective rumors targeting a group of people and societal rumors targeting the community as a whole. The study recommended the necessity of media awareness of the seriousness of rumors through social media and their effects on society by organizing lectures and seminars and activating the role of educational institutions and universities in clarifying the dangers of rumors on society.
