|a رغم أن مصطلح "التخييل" تعرف باستعماله طائفة النقاد المتفلسفين، لأن مادته نهلت من النقول الفلسفية، التي عرفت "التخييل" وعرفته على أنه ذلك العنصر الذي يعمل على إثارة المتلقي. إلا أننا لا نعدم هذا المفهوم في المدونة النقدية العربية قبل عصر التدون وتقييد علوم النقد والشعر، فلا يخفى على أهل البلاغة والأدب أن الشعر يقال للفائدة والاستمتاع أو الإلذاذ، وهذا بما يحتويه من خصائص أسلوبية ولغوية وشكلية منحته تلك القدرة السحرية على التأثير في نفس المتلقي. مما يوحي أن فكرة التخييل كانت معروفة لدى الناقد البياني حتى وإن لم تتخذ هذا المصطلح، حيث يرى بعض الباحثين أن فكرة التخييل بنت العقل العربي الإسلامي، كما أنه يحمل في دلالته ذاتها إخبارا عن منابته، فالناقد البياني كان يعرف ويعرف الشعر نتاجا لتأثيره، ولهذا قرن الشعر بالسحر كإرهاص أول لمفهوم التخييل.

However, we do not lack this concept in the Arabic monetary code before the era of codification and the restriction of the sciences of criticism and poetry. This suggests that the idea of fiction was known to the critic even if she did not this term. Some researchers believe that the idea of fiction is the daughter of the Arab and Islamic mind, and it carries in its same meaning a narrative of its reproduction. The critic used to knew and define poetry as a product of its influence, and for this reason poetry was associated with magic as a first introduction to the concept of imagination.
