Abstract: تناول البحث أبرز خصائص الفن الإسلامي التي استفاد منها فنانو الغرب في الفن الحديث والفن المعاصر، وذلك باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التاريخي بتتبع تلك الخصائص الفنية، والمنهج الوصفي المقارن وذلك للمقارنة بين خصائص الفن الإسلامي من جهة وخصائص الفن الحديث والمعاصر من جهة أخرى؛ عن طريق عينة مقصودة من أعمال الفن التي تكشف بعض السمات الفنية الجمالية. كما خلص البحث إلى (1) الوصول إلى المنطلقات والحلول التي تساعد الفنان المسلم المعاصر بالتعبير عن أفكاره وطموحاته في قوالب فنية أصيلة ذات جذور في الفن الإسلامي، (2) التأكيد على ضرورة قراءة الفن الإسلامي اليوم بطريقة تتسم بالمعاصرة.

The study examined the characteristics of Islamic art; and how Western artists benefited from these characteristics to starting for made modern and postmodern art. The researcher used the historical descriptive approach by tracing these artistic characteristics and the comparative descriptive approach to comparing the characteristics of Islamic art on the one hand and the properties of modern and contemporary art on the other. The research was based on an intended sample of works of art that revealed some aesthetic art features. One of the most important results of the research is; (1) to reach some of the starting points and solutions that help the contemporary Muslim artist to express his ideas and aspirations in the original art formations rooted in Islamic art. (2) To emphasize the need of reading Islamic art today in a contemporary manner.
