|a تعد النظرية النقدية- برأي الكثير من المفكرين المعاصرين - من أهم النظريات الفلسفية والاجتماعية التي أسست لدخول عصر الحداثة وما بعده، وقد تكون نقدية الفيلسوف الألماني كانط الحجر الأساس في النهضة الأوروبية وفقا لهذه النظرية، لذلك يحاول هذا البحث ذو الطابع الفلسفي والاجتماعي أن يسلط الضوء على أصل نشوء هذه النظرية النقدية منذ بداياتها الأولى حتى عصر النهضة، كما أنه يحاول أن يتتبع تطورها التاريخي والفلسفي والظروف الاجتماعية والسياسية المحيطة بها، وما هو موقف بعض الفلاسفة من هذه النظرية النقدية. بيد أن السؤال الذي يمكن أن نطرحه هنا، هو على الشكل الآتي: هل قامت النظرية النقدية بدورها الاجتماعي والسياسي في المجتمع، وهل ساهمت في التغيير المنشود الذي تسعى إليه في المجتمع. وانطلاقا من هذا السؤال فإنه يجب علينا أن نتتبع سيرورة تطورها التاريخي، وأن نتعرف على أهم آراء الفلاسفة اللذين قالوا بها.
