كتاب دراما اللامعقول يعيشون حالة من التمرد، والعبث، حالة من عجز العقل عن أن يستوعب ما يحيط به من اللاحقيقة، واللا منطق، من عبثية الحياة، من اللاهدف، واللامعنى، وهذه نتيجة حتمية أفرزتها الحرب العالمية الثانية. طبيعة الصراع في دراما اللامعقول غير خاضعا لما جاءت به الدراما الكلاسيكية والقواعد الأرسطية من توصيفات للصراع على أنه ساكنا، واثبا، صاعدا، متدرجا، وتوصيفات أخرى، إنما تمثل في نصوص مسرحيات يونسكو أن يكون مغلقا، يبدأ من نقطة وينتهي عند نفس النقطة، صراعا لامنطقيا، لامعقولا، لم يكن متعلقا بأحداث خارجية بسبب من الفراغ الروحي للوجود الإنساني، شخصا يعاني حالة من الاضطراب والقلق الروحي، وعدم الاستقرار النفسي، يعاني من العزلة لعدم استطاعته الاتصال بالآخرين. شخصيات هلامية لا اسم لها، مسلوبة الإرادة، هي دائما في حالة من الضياع والخوف والعبث واليأس والهروب والفوضى والفراغ إزاء تفاهة الحياة وعبثيتها، وعبثية الوجود، والكشف عن كوامن النفس البشرية، الشخصيات لا تحاول البحث لها عن مشتركات للتحاور، أي أنها منطوية على نفسها غير فعالة. جاءت نصوصهم عبارة عن كم من الأفكار المتعددة، تزيح أحدهما الأخرى لتبني وتؤسس لثيمة جديدة من خلال اللغة التي جاءت عن ثرثرة لا معنى لها، أفكار مبعثرة غير متسلسلة، بمعنى الحوار غير محكم البناء، لا وجود للزمان ولا وضوح للمكان، يجعل المتلقي في حالة من الدهشة والاستغراب، بسبب من اضطراب النظام السلوكي للفرد والمجتمع الذي حول الفرد إلى مجرد ماكنة.
