Abstract: يناقش البحث موضوع الاقتصاد الإيطالي في الحرب العالمية الأولى، وأهم السياسات التي تعاملت بها الحكومات الإيطالية مع اقتصاد الحرب، لاسيما في قطاعات الزراعة والصناعة والسياسة المالية، وينطلق من فرضية: كيف يمكن لاقتصاد هش يفتقر إلى المقومات الأساسية أن يخوض حرب حديثة، محاولا الإجابة عن هذا السؤال من خلال الخطة المنهجية التي درسنا بموجبها البحث. تبين لنا من خلال دراسة هذا الموضوع بأن بعض القطاعات الاقتصادية ولاسيما الصناعية شهدت تطوراً ملحوظاً خلال الحرب، فيما شهد القطاع الزراعي مشال كبيرة، فضلا عن غياب سياسة مالية تعالج مشاكل الحرب وآثارها، وكان لهذه المشاكل دور كبير في التغيرات السياسية الإيطالية بعد عام 1922.

This research deals with the Italian economy in the First World War, and discusses the most important policies that Italian governments dealt with the war economy, especially in the sectors of agriculture, industry and financial policy, the research hypothesis is: How can a fragile economy that lacks the basic ingredients to fight a modern war? In an attempt to answer this question through a systematic plan deals with this research. Through studying this topic, we found that some economic sectors, especially industrial, witnessed a remarkable development during the war, while the agricultural sector witnessed great problems, as well as the absence of a fiscal policy that addresses the problems of the war and its effects, and these problems had a major role in the Italian political changes after 1922.
