" يستعرض هذا البحث وفي عدة سطور ما كتبه المؤرخ ابن الأثير عن صلاح الدين الأيوبي، هذا القائد الذي أخذ على عاتقه طرد الصليبيين من البلاد العربية والإسلامية، مسطراً بذلك أروع قصص البطولة والشجاعة التي خلدها التاريخ، فقد عاش مقاتلاً ومجاهدا في سبيل الله تعالى، واستطاع إلحاق الهزائم الكثيرة بالصليبيين، إلى أن انتهى به الأمر إلى طردهم نهائيا من البلاد العربية والإسلامية. فطفق المؤرخون الذين عاصروا تلك الأحداث يكتبون عن هذا القائد، وكان منهم المؤرخ ابن الأثير. اهتم ابن الأثير بذكر الكثير والعديد من الحوادث والمعارك التي خاضها صلاح الدين الأيوبي، فعمل على تدوينها ليحفظ لنا بذلك الشيء الكثير عن تاريخ صلاح الدين الأيوبي. كما حرص ابن الأثير كل الحرص على الاقتراب والوقوف على حيثيات الحوادث ومعاينتها بنفسه، وهذا يحسب للمؤرخ ابن الأثير، حيث إنه لم يكن يكتفي فقط بذكر الحادثة، بل يزور مكان وقوعها لأجل الحصول على الحقائق. وفي كتابه الكامل في التاريخ أبلغ تعبير على حرصه على تدوين تاريخ صلاح الدين، تشهد بذلك الصفحات التي أفردها للحديث عنه، ويهدف هذا البحث لإبراز البعض منها والوقوف على بعض جوانبها وتحليلها والخروج ببعض الاستنتاجات. يبدأ البحث بتقديم تعريف عن المؤرخ ابن الأثير، واستعراض علاقة أسرته بالزنكيين، حيث كانت تربطهم بهم علاقة وطيدة، ثم يأتي بعده ذلك التعريف بصلاح الدين الأيوبي، ثم يليه استعراض لما كتبه ابن الأثير في كتابة الكامل في التاريخ حول صلاح الدين الأيوبي، مع عرض لكيفية تناول المؤرخ ابن الأثير للقائد صلاح الدين. ثم تأتي الخاتمة التي احتوت على النتائج حول موضوع الدراسة."
" This research reviews in several lines what was written by the scholar and the great historian Ibn al-Atheer about Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, this leader who took the responsibility to expel the Crusaders from the Arab and Islamic countries. A fighter and mujahid for the sake of God . He was able to inflict many defeats of the Crusaders until he ended up expelling them permanently from the Arab and Islamic countries. Historians who contemporaneously began to write about this leader and among them was the scholar Ibn al-Atheer. Ibn Al-Atheer was interested in mentioning many accidents and battles that the hero Saladin fought. The scholar wrote down to us a lot about the history of Saladin. The scholar Ibn al-Athar was very keen on approaching and finding the merits of the accidents himself to inspect and this is counted for the historian Ibn al-Atheer as he is not only satisfied with mentioning the incident, but rather he visits the place where the accident occurred and this fact is counted for him as a historian as he obtained this facts. In his book Al-Kamel in history the most eloquent expression on that as he wrote down several pages about this hero. In this research, we are working on highlighting some of them and standing on some of their aspects and we are working on analyzing them and coming up with some conclusions. The research begins by providing an introduction to the historian Ibn al-Atheer and reviewing the relationship of the scholar’s family with the Zankites, as they had a close relationship with them, then comes the introduction to the leader, Salah al Din al-Ayyubi, and then follows a review of what the scholar Ibn al-Atheer wrote in his book *A1 -kamel* in history about the hero Salah al-Din al Ayyubi and we stand about how The historian Ibn al-Atheer dealt with the leader Saladin. Then comes the conclusion which contains results on the subject of the study. "
