المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعريف بعلم أسماء الأماكن (الطوبونيميا) كعلم مستحدث في الكليات الأدبية، وقد أدرج في خانة العلوم المساعدة؛ وهو في الأساس يشكل جزءاً من العلوم اللغوية أو الألسنيات باعتبار الاسم، مهما كان، مشتقاً من اللغة، وهو لفظ، وله قواعده ودلالاته وأبعاده وهو محمل بالمعاني. ويهدف بحثنا هذا إلى إظهار العلاقة اللغوية المتينة بين علم أسماء الأماكن ومشتقاته اللفظية ودلالاته المعنوية وتوظيفها بما يخدم علوماً مختلفة.

This research aims to define the science of place names or "Toponymy", as a science recently introduced into literary faculties and classified as an Auxiliary Science. It is essentially part of linguistics, given that the name, whatever it is, derives from language; it is a word, it has its rules, its connotations and its semantic dimensions, and it is loaded with many meanings. Our research aims to show the close linguistic relationship between Toponymy, its verbal derivatives, its cognitive connotations and their use in a way that serves the different sciences.

Cette recherche vise à définir la science des noms de lieux ou la « Toponymie », en tant qu’une science introduite récemment dans les facultés littéraires et classée comme Science auxiliaire. Elle fait essentiellement partie de la Linguistique, compte tenu que le nom, quel qu'il soit, dérive de la langue ; c'est un mot, il a ses règles, ses connotations et ses dimensions sémantiques, et il est chargé de maintes significations. Notre recherche vise à montrer l’étroite relation linguistique entre la Toponymie, ses dérivés verbaux, ses connotations cognitives et leur emploi d'une manière qui sert les différentes sciences
