| 520 | |b According to the global nature of copyright, legislation has taken care of protecting this right in accordance with legal rules established by the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works. This protection has been comprehensive; Where national legislation has approved the protection of the works of authors in general, but this protection is differentiated in terms of its scope between the national author and the foreign author, while the national legislation provided full protection for the works of the national author, whether published in its territory or abroad; but he restricted the protection of foreign works according to objective and personal criteria. This study clarified those standards in order to find the compatibility of national rules with international rules approved by copyright protection agreements, it relied on the analysis of the legal bases in the Jordanian and Lebanese legislation and the US in order to stand on the latest legislative developments in this area. In order to clear the questions arising from its problems, We have resorted to the analytical method to analyze the statutory texts by following the comparative method. Therefore, the study was divided into two main axes: the first is to research personal criteria for the protection of foreign copyright; The second is the research on objective criteria. The study concluded that the comparative legislation ensured the protection of foreign copyright in a manner consistent with international rules in accordance with objective and personal protection criteria. | ||
