The role of the western-directed media is no longer confined to only “transmitting information”, but bypassing it to reach a dangerous stage which is “manufacoring information”, “defining an agenda for thinking”, and when “the image of the African human” is the focus of thinking in Western media it is subjected to distortion in a way that serves Western interests. And in this article we are trying to reveal the image of the African man in the Western media in three main axes: The intellectual foundations of the image of the African human in Western media; the extent of the influence of the Western media mechine on the image of the African human, and the alternative African media role in promoting the correct image of the African human, to address the phenomenon of distorting the image of the African by Western media |
