المستخلص: L’archéologie sous-marine a connu un essor fulgurant durant ces dernières années. Beaucoup de découvertes à travers le monde ont fourni des données scientifiques d’une valeur inestimable. Néanmoins, ces découvertes restent peu nombreuses en comparaison avec les découvertes en archéologie terrestre. l es fonds marins renferment encore beaucoup de richesses. Beaucoup de régions ne disposent d’aucun inventaire de ses sites archéologique sous-marin. Certes, quelques sites sont connus par les plongeurs mais les explorations et les recherches scientifiques ont été très rares et peu documentées. Le but de cette étude, en plus de donner une définition et une typologie exacte du patrimoine archéologique sous-marin, est de revenir sur les découvertes et études effectuées en Algérie et de mettre le point sur l’importance de ces dernières.

The underwater archeology has known a lightning increase through the last years. Many discoveries all over the word provided valuable scientific information. However, these discoveries remain fewer than the terrestrial ones. The seabed still contains an amount of wealth. Many regions are not provided with inventory of the underwater archeological sites. It is obvious that some sites are widely known to the divers but the scientific explorations and the researches are few and not well documented. This study aims to go back on the discoveries and the studies performed in Algeria and focus on their importance. Besides to precise the definition and the exact types of the underwater archeological heritage.
