المستخلص: Current research papers seek to provide a theoretical approach to explaining the imagination, as a purely human function as well as a sophisticated mental activity. Thus, this function is regulated according to some precise brain patterns and parameters that it shares with other mental activities. Accordingly, it should be noted that imagination is not only related to visual images, but includes all the data that the brain processes and deals with. This superior brain power depends on the perceptions, meanings, and contexts surrounding the senses and their field of attention, and can, thus, reproduce other models of them that may not quite resemble them. The concept of metacognition has been referred to because imagination is one of the most important indicators of the existence of metacognitive activity, in addition to being one of the most important generators of knowledge and methods of acquiring it in the brain. In order to lay the foundations for that, many researchers in modern neuroscience have provided interesting details about the neural network that allows for the intersectioning between different areas of the brain and innovation. Accordingly, considering the executive function as an example, is because it solves problems based on multiple options, and the latter is based on the open
