يعني هذا البحث بدراسة أغراض شعر المثقب العبدي، وهو شاعر جاهلي بحراني مقل، أزورت عنه أقلام الباحثين والدارسين إلا قليلا. اشتمل البحث على مستخلص باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية ومقدمة وتمهيد عرف بحياة المثقب العبدي وشعره، وخمسة مطالب. المطلب الأول: الوصف، المطلب الثاني: الغزل، والثالث: المدح، والرابع: الفخر، والخامس: أغراض أخرى. ثم خاتمة، وهوامش البحث، وثبت بالمصادر والمراجع. ولعل أهمية هذه الدراسة تكمن في أنها أبرزت شخصية المثقب العبدي من خلال أغراض شعره. خرجت الدراسة بعدة نتائج أهمها: في بعض شعر المثقب غرابة ألفاظ ومتانة تراكيب، وحينا يميل شعره إلى السهولة. كان المثقب مجيدا في وصفه ولاسيما حين وصف ناقته وصفا دقيقا بإحساس بدوي قح. في غزل المثقب ذكر للوصل والهجر وذرف الدموع الغزار على فراق الأحبة، ثانيا: عن الصفات الحسية إلا اليسير منها، وقد أسهب في وصف الظعن بشيء من البراعة والامتاع. كما جاء مدح المثقب سهل الألفاظ سلسها، خاليا من الألفاظ الحوشية المتوعرة. ويظهر في شخصية المثقب جوانب مشرقة منها التسامح والتؤدة والأناة.
This research is concerned with the study of Al Muthagib's poetry purposes, a Bahrani poet from El Asr El Jaheli, with little poetic production. Thus, researchers have written little about him. The research includes an abstract in Arabic and English, an introduction and a preface to the life of Al Muthagib, his poetry and 5 Matlabs. The first Matlab is descriptive, the second is about flirtation, the third is about praising, the fourth talks about pride, and the fifth is other purposes, along a list of resources and references. this study, the character of Al Muthagib is highlighted by the purposes of his poetry. This study came out with several results: - His poetry embraces some strangeness of words, and - strength of its structure, but sometimes it needs to ease. -Al Muthagib was generously descriptive, especially when he described his camel in a pure Bedouin sense. -He talked about yarn mentioning the connection that's there, beside the neglect and mourning the departure of loved ones. While he avoided the materialistic stuff except only few. In addition he talked a great deal about migration in a crafty pattern - His Praise poetry is simple away from hustle vocabulary. - His character has many bright sides including forgiveness, tolerance and persistence.
