المستخلص: This research explores knowledge of the reality of population distribution and their density in Salah al-Din Governorate through an analytical and objective presentation of the nature and pattern of that distribution in the urban and rural areas of the governorate and a statement of the total geographical factors affecting it, whether natural or human, which the research seeks to address and determine the levels of their impact on the variation of geographical distribution for its residents from a different demographic and environmental points of view. This study is interested in presenting a clear picture of the division of dimensions, current and future trends of population distribution and its various patterns among the administrative units of the study area according to the aspects of the cadastral population relations in it and the extent of the effect of the existing link between them, and the extent of its reflection on its spatial variation in general and the size of the obstacles facing the way of its distribution on its geographical area in particular. Thus, the possibility of developing appropriate solutions and treatments for it is handled in this paper. This research concluded in the output of its data and its verified results that there is a state of imbalance and discrepancy in the distribution of the population of the study area according to the importance of the site and the pattern of population concentration in it, as well as the form of unbalanced distribution in some areas and other parts of it, which is mainly due to the deficiencies of those involved in demographic and environmental planning in it at the level of population distribution in urban and rural areas, in addition to those geographical factors indicated above, which together have drawn features of the actual population distribution and density in the governorate.

يكشف هذا البحث معرفة واقع توزيع السكان وكثافتهم في محافظة صلاح الدين من خلال عرض تحليلي وموضوعي لطبيعة ونمط ذلك التوزيع في حضر وريف المحافظة وبيان جملة العوامل الجغرافية المؤثرة فيه سواء كانت الطبيعية منها أم البشرية، والذي يسعى البحث إلى تناولها وتحديد مستويات تأثيرها على تباين التوزيع الجغرافي لسكانها من وجهة نظر ديموغرافية وبيئية مختلفة. وتهتم دراسته في عرض صورة واضحة عن تقييم الأبعاد والاتجاهات الحالية والمستقبلية لتوزيع السكان وأنماطه المختلفة بين الوحدات الإدارية لمنطقة الدراسة وفقا لأوجه العلاقات السكانية المساحية فيها ومقدار أثر الارتباط القائم بينها، ومدى انعكاسه على تباينه المكاني بعامة وحجم المعوقات التي تواجه سبيل توزيعه على مساحتها الجغرافية بنحو خاص، وبالتالي إمكانية وضع الحلول والمعالجات المناسبة له، هذا وقد خلص البحث في مخرج معطياته ونتائجه المتحققة إلى وجود حالة من الاختلال والتباين في توزيع سكان منطقة الدراسة طبقا لأهمية الموقع ونمط التركز السكاني فيها، فضلا عن شكل التوزيع غير المتوازن في بعض مناطق وأجزاء أخرى منها، والتي تعود أساسا إلى وجود قصور لدى المعنيين في التخطيط السكاني والبيئي فيها على مستوى توزيع السكان في الحضر والريف، إلى جانب تلك العوامل الجغرافية المؤشرة آنفا، والتي رسمت بمجموعها ملامح التوزيع الفعلي للسكان وكثافته في المحافظة.
